Kellyanne Conway presses Trump for ‘fewer insults’ in bid for ‘winning formula’
The Washington Examiner ^ | 08/13/2024 | Emily Hallas

Former White House adviser Kellyanne Conway joined the chorus of GOP strategists who want former President Donald Trump to change his tone on the campaign trail.

Conway told Fox Business anchor Larry Kudlow during an interview on Monday that her former boss needs to adapt his rhetoric to produce a “winning formula” against Vice President Kamala Harris.

“The winning formula for President Trump is very plain to see,” Conway proclaimed. “It’s fewer insults, more insights, and that policy contrast.”

The GOP strategist worked closely with Trump for three years before retiring from her role as counselor to the president in August 2020.

If President Trump would just contrast the policies, he’ll win!” Conway added. “Because he has a 2-to-1 advantage over Biden-Harris on the economy and inflation, on the border, on Israel and Hamas, on the key issues that are important to people.”

Conway isn’t the only GOP strategist worried that Trump’s stabs on Harris could detract from his presidential ambitions.

Republican pollster Frank Luntz is among others who have suggested Trump’s “persona” is hurting his campaign.

*** Conway was rumored to have had a fallout with Trump insiders after the former president picked Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) to be his running mate. Over a dozen MAGA insiders allegedly accused the former White House counselor of fueling negative press about Vance after the Ohio Republican was launched as Trump’s No. 2.

However, the ex-White House adviser planted herself firmly in the Trump camp during her interview with Kudlow. Deriding Harris for being “afraid” to speak to the media, Conway touted Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and claimed the GOP leader had “the best opportunity” to win the 2024 presidential election.

I’m not surprised. She and George and their daughter were the subject of much bad news over the last several years. What a dysfunctional family.

McCain and Romney stuck to the issues and were very careful not to call Obama any names so they could not be accused of being racist.

They got crushed.

Agreed. This is how a DC swamp creature whose private advice has been rejected conducts themselves. Should get her booted from the insiders club.

If she was such a great strategist, she would understand that you don’t give the enemy (MSM) anything.

Kellyanne Conway should take Musk's advice:

Her husband should take it, as well.

Issues: The border, crime, the economy.
Non-issues: The size of crowds, e.g. mine is bigger than yours.

You guys are blind. Trump had a 2 hour conversation. He called her low IQ and said Biden was stupid for how he was talking about Russia prior to the Ukraine invasion. Kama Kamelon has a 30 second bit and she’ll call Trump a rapist, Hitler and a misogynist pig all in one breath but somehow that doesn’t take away from her positive message? It’s all media spin and framing. They scoured all the chats they could to find JD Vance call out the cat ladies and they spent a week and a half talking about that. This is not a Trump problem, this is a media problem. They are just liars. If Trump went on stage and said, “The border is a disaster and she was in charge of it for the last 8 years. The economy is horrible and she had a role to play” the headline would be, Trump repeats his false border czar claims and “Fact Check: Kamala the Great had nothing to do with inflation”. This is really not a result of Trump or personal attacks. The Republicans who go on “the stations” and say this crap are trying to help the Democrats without coming right out and doing it. They could just as easily tell him on a phone call (which they’d probably leak anyways).

Exactly. Kellyanne could have said this personally instead of going to the media.

Yet here we are with the usual suspects who are so above it all with the same ole Trump doesn’t talk issues crap.

I mean really, nobody ever insults Trump and calls him names, nor do they ever wish him any harm or declare him a huge threat to our democracy.

It is amazing that he would even think of calling any of these fine people names. /big ole sarc tag LOL

I believe Kellyanne is working on behalf of Ukraine now.

But the Democrats can insult as much as they please. Got it.

So much for the same old RINO “advice”.

Unfortunately, in today’s gynocentric world, you have to tread lightly. Most modern women today, believe in ‘convenient’ equality. If you insult them in the same fashion as you would insult a man, you are immediately labeled a misogynist or a bully. Even though it goes against Trump’s instinct, a different strategy needs to be employed. It’s just an unfortunate fact of life today.

Get a grip.

Check the betting markets in 2016. A lot of people took a bath.

Besides, who cares what gamblers think?
