The United Auto Workers union said Tuesday that it filed federal labor charges against former President Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk after the duo's conversation on X veered into talk about workers striking.
Why it matters: The UAW recently endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris' 2024 bid, while the union is also aiming to organize Tesla workers. Driving the news: The UAW said it filed the charges against Trump and Musk "for their illegal attempts to threaten and intimidate workers who stand up for themselves by engaging in protected concerted activity, such as strikes."

So it is now illegal to have an opinion in America.
Sounded to me like Trump was referring to public employees unions, not other unions like the UAW
Well, there’s nothing like using a current reference. Lol!
Speaking of strikes, unions and dems, I was a Teamster for 35 years. The union supported Clinton big time in 1996. Millions of dollars and untold thousands of hours of union labor working the campaign got Slick elected. We went on strike six months later with a $56/wk Union strike benefit to replace our paychecks and medical insurance. The f’n union had us starved in three weeks.
F the UAW hierarchy.
Donald Trump is not a public official, and is not in the business of manufacturing cars and trucks … so any “labor charges” filed against him by the UAW are baloney.
For many of these old industrial unions (the United Steelworkers is a classic example of this), the retirees eventually outnumber the active workers. What this means is that the union leaders don’t give a damn about the workers anymore. They are only interested in promoting the interests of the retirees.
YUP
When ALL the befits are included-—that hourly cost goes WAAAAAY UP.
KEEP IN MIN D:
UAW contracts call for a worker ‘replaced’ by machine robot can collect 90% of their regular pay by sitting all day-—playing cards—in the UNION LOCAL office as a “replacement for a broken machine”.
90% for playing cards......
OR do I need to repeat this once more???
When a person works for an hourly wage, they almost never include health benefits, sick leave, holiday pay, vacation pay, company provided life insurance, or matching funds to retirement accounts.
When a salaried person income is discussed, it always includes these perks. Total compensation.
Those auto worker’s benefits add 40-50% additional realized income.
“Would innuendos count as hate speech?”

They certainly could, since they’re nothing more than an effort to disguise the underlying message.
“Would innuendos count as hate speech?”<
Well crap!
What about thought speech?
The leadership of the UAW back the two communists ... I would seriously doubt the membership as a whole does. They have her figured out and have no political stake in her success.
My call - No Standing ! Two individuals sitting around talking about employees quitting or striking doesn’t state a cause of action. It’s way too non-specific. Let’s see if they get a honest court to rule accordingly.
This.
The union represents the interests of the factory workers.
Quality is Management’s problem to address.
At least, this is the case as it is laid out in contract negotiations.
The only union workers i e seen striking in DFW area were airline employees and Miller brewery loafers.
Those beer brewers go on strike every few years. They sit on the grass outside the plant along I35 with their protest signs. They eventually get a raise and go back to work.
Why do you say that?
_________
Because the contracts are not between a business (which has a financial interest in getting good terms) & the union, but between politicians (who have no interest in protecting taxpayers) & the unions. And the unions are happy to provide “support” to said politicians. You end up with an overpaid workforce which is impossible to fire.
For instance, I worked at a university where a bad employee had to be put on probation for two months to give them a chance to improve. Now a sane contract would read that if the employee then reverted to bad habits, you could fire them. Not in that system. You could only fire them while they are ON probation. So we had many who would become their usual crappy selves, get put back on probation & behave for a while, & then back on probation, etc., etc., & on & on it went. They could never be fired.
There should’ve been a committee of Taxpayers or some outside entity negotiating contracts with the unions. But then the politicians couldn’t get their bennies.
More like the United Auto Workers union driving the companies out of the US they drove them out of many cities all the big three out of Los Angeles due to greed.
Mexico hoists company flags
