New York Changes Gun Laws After Supreme Court Ruling

Gun law changes in New York City are opening up the path for nonresidents to carry firearms across the state.

The New York City Police Department adopted an emergency rule last week that will allow nonresidents to apply for concealed carry permits through the city, a move that could create a backdoor for out-of-state residents to carry their guns in the state.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams signed the changes into law last Tuesday, allowing for nonresidents to file carry applications in the city. Prior to the new order, NYPD rules did not contain formal procedures for applicants who do not live in New York or applicants who are primarily employed in New York City. The state also does not grant any form of reciprocity for individuals who hold a similar permit from another state.

Newsweek reached out to Adams and New York Governor Kathy Hochul's offices via email for comment.

The notice of adoption states that the changes to New York City's gun laws will "ensure that the City is able to properly regulate handgun ownership within NYC while also complying with the Bruen decision."

The Supreme Court's landmark decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen struck down a century-old law in New York requiring applicants to show "proper cause" in order to obtain a concealed carry license.

"Delaying implementation of these additional rules would severely impede New York City's ability to effectively and legally regulate handgun ownership within its jurisdiction," the notice reads.

Expect illegal aliens in this “Sanctuary City” to be issued carry permits along with their taxpayer funded EBT cards.

NYC thinks it is special, somehow separate from the United States and the rules we all agree upon.

".....apply for concealed carry permits through the city."

Something tells me this application process will take several years.

"Delaying implementation of these additional rules would severely impede New York City's ability to effectively and legally regulate handgun ownership within its jurisdiction," the notice reads.

There is no *legally regulating handguns*.

It violates the Second Amendment.

The SCOTUS gave a verdict on what was legal in 1857 for a CITIZEN of the US. End result: Negros were not citizens and had no rights. This is just one thing that led to the Civil War.

Were Negros citizens:

What the SCOTUS thought about gun control in the pre Civil War era.
“It would give to persons of the negro race, who were recognised as citizens in any one State of the Union, the right to enter every other State whenever they pleased, singly or in companies, without pass or passport, and without obstruction, to sojourn there as long as they pleased, to go where they pleased at every hour of the day or night without molestation, unless they committed some violation of law for which a white man would be punished;
and it would give them the full liberty of speech in public and in private upon all subjects upon which its own citizens might speak; to hold public meetings upon political affairs,
and to KEEP AND CARRY ARMS wherever they went.”

Paragraph 77 in the link below.

So, if you visit new york, first you must pay the visitation tax required for all visitors every time they visit. then you must aquire tha gun carry permit application and then it must be approved. there was no mention of the fee required to accompany the application.

However while paying the visitor tax and obtaining the application, one is guilty of being armed, in New York

New York needs a good nuclear attack.

You’d need a non-resident permit to be legal the way I read it.

There is no *legally regulating handguns*.

There is if you control the language. "A well-regulated militia..." to them means sensible regulation. What it meant to the framers was "well-provisioned" and "well-armed".

In the words of the framers, though, it means “well-provisioned.” It’s where we get the term “regular” army. A regular army is a standing army provisioned by the government.

As an opposed to the regular army, a militia is citizen-soldiers who have to provision themselves. The only way we can have a “well-regulated militia” is if citizens are free to keep and bear arms.

Detroit used to be the same way unless you had political connections. We also had gun boards throughout the state in all the counties.

Then in 2001 I think, Michigan became a shall issue state which eliminated the gun boards.

You’re not provisioned if your rifle isn’t properly sighted in!

😊
