Pushing voters to feel rather than think –with a panache that makes Donald Trump’s gut-level appeals seem thoughtful – Harris’ vibe-driven campaign has already given us “brat” (a dance and a weltanschauung), “weird,” “freedom,” and “coconut trees.” But if her TikTok-inspired operation has its way, 2024 is going to be all about Cat Ladies.
From the moment Donald Trump tapped J.D. Vance as his running mate – boy were they ready – the Harris campaign pounced on a 2021 interview in which Vance described Harris and many other Democrat leaders as “childless cat ladies.”
“Why have we let the Democrat party become controlled by people who don’t have children?” he asked in a separate discussion. “Why is this just a normal fact of American life, that the leaders of our country should be people who don’t have a personal and direct stake in it via their own offspring, via their own children and grandchildren?”
One can protest until they are blue in the face that Vance was not criticizing childless people – especially those who, tragically, cannot have children – but what he sees as the “anti-family and anti-child” drift of the modern Democratic Party.

They need to appeal to the independent voters, not alienate them. In fact, that comment may insult many Trump supporters as well.
No. Republicans need to stand for something. And that something, at the very least, should be the future of our nation, not just the present. It is true that there are many single men and women in our nation. Some don't want to be. But some have decided, selfishly, to be alone and/or childless. I know people who married and never had kids, not because they couldn't, but because they didn't want the responsibility or change in their lifestyles. This is selfishness, no matter how you want to spin it.
That same selfishness is at the root of most of the problems facing our nation. And that's something anyone who cares about the future needs to call out and stand against.
The people who can't find a mate or can't bear children have my sympathies. They should know that they are not the intended targets of this criticism. But, the ones that whine about it are far more likely angry at the deep truths they know in their heart, how their own choices and behaviors have led them to their present position. The hit dog barks. Honestly, if childless women will vote against the policies that will preserve the future of this country, just because they feel slighted or insulted, then they are just as selfish as they are accused of being. And living down to every stereotype of women that gets bandied about online. So, acknowledge the realities, or get out of the way.

I've been in cat rescue my whole life...and i can tell you that most of the rescuers I know are Republicans. I know more ppl with babies that are DEMOCRATS becuz they want the free school lunch food , they want more handouts becuz they have kids....the free school supplies..on and on. There are your free handout HELP ME GOV't people ...the Democrats....the ppl with kids.

YUP, but actually my Wife and I have both dogs and cats, plus 2 HUMAN CHILDREN.
The cats do pretty much what they want when they want, but they do keep the rats and mice at controllable levels.
The dogs do pretty much what they want when they want, but they do keep the bears, mountain lions, and bobcats off the livestock.
The human kids do pretty much what they want when they want, and pretty much just ignore us otherwise.
So for the Wife and I it’s pretty much a win, win, lose situation; the kids both graduated from college and are doing their own thing, THAT’S LIFE.

When it was time to get up in the morning and I was still in bed, my calico cat Tasha would jump on the bed and purr loudly. If that didn’t work, she would bat my face to remind me that it was time to get up and feed her.
She passed away at 18 from renal failure, a frequent cause of death for older cats, on November 8, 2016. Although it was a sad day for me, it was also Election Day, so I was cheered by the good news later that evening.
Now they just need to lock down left handed lesbians who played lacrosse at Loyola! 520 evs!
