Former President Trump is facing fierce blowback from his line of attack questioning Vice President Harris’s Black identity, risking his efforts to court more Black voters in November.
The former president drew shock and outrage from members of the Black community after claiming Harris, who is biracial, had “turned Black” after identifying only as Indian for years. Harris has repeatedly referenced her Black and Indian cultural background in her years in the political spotlight.
The fallout online from the interview at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) convention was swift, with some experts arguing the comments will damage Trump badly with Black voters in the fall.

Trust me black people do not like blacks that only become black for politics. Trump is driving a wedge in the black community and this is why the media is freaking out over it and trying to convince people it’s actually hurting Trump.

Trump needs more white votes than he got in 2016 or 2020 a lot more than he needs black votes, which he won’t be getting anyway.

If Trump speaks to economic and genuine individual liberty issues, he will win the “black vote” hands down. pointing out that Harris has lived a silver=spoon life with every imaginable advantage being given to her.......is a valid campaign issue
Blacks are 12-13% of the electorate. That number is significantly higher in Georgia.
Trump’s black draw — and indeed GOP black draw — has been sub 10%.
The polling so far says he’s up to 27ish%. That’s an increase of — call it 15% of that group. Or 15% of 13% which is about 1.9% of the overall population. In a race where popular vote lead is 4% Dem (2020), that is a big chunk. It’s half the lead.
This, plus the 20% of Independents who have owned or own currently Bitcoin (and his speech to the crypto conference), is a solid effort of the campaign strategy to slice off votes from Dems to himself.
People need to understand something. Politics has changed, and it changed because of Trump. He’s not going to stand at a microphone and talk about the old issues. He’s going to talk about the Swamp and the border and inflation and mold all this to carving slices of the electorate that can be carved.
The media hates this not only because he’s running as a Republican. They hate that he hates the Swamp, in which they have wallowed for decades.
BTW, this was the appeal of Vance. Less than 2 years in politics. Not Swamp filth.

I doubt it. The Hill is left-of-center and is no fan of Trump. This is not likely an unbiased or an objective opinion. Several days ago, I came a live chat on YouTube. It was a black YouTuber having a discussion about Kamala Harris. Most if not all the people in the chat were black and they were all basically saying the same thing: Kamala is not one of us. She’s not black or she’s not African American.
She’s not black black and turned her back on her Indian heritage turning off indan Amerians.
That little switcheroo makes her unlikabe by both camps.
Trump is going to pound her into the ground with that fact today.
