Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro (D), who previously served as that state's Attorney General, is reportedly on Kamala Harris's shortlist for her running mate. Shapiro would seem to bring some significant things to the table: executive experience, popularity in a key swing state, and support from unions.
But progressive groups are nevertheless warning Harris away from Shapiro.
One letter signed by nearly 50 progressive leaders pointed to Shapiro’s “shortcomings as a national candidate” and urged the vice president to consider Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) instead.
“With the compressed timeline ahead of us to defeat the Trump-Vance-MAGA threat, we simply cannot afford any setbacks,” the letter said.
A letter from another progressive group, known as “VP Unity,” said Harris’s consideration of Shapiro has “set off alarm bells” among young voters, Muslims, Arab Americans and activists.
Take a look at those categories. "...young voters, Muslims, Arab Americans, and activists."
From this, we can conclude with reasonable certainty that the "young voters" and "activists" are those who either conducted or are in sympathy with those who held "peaceful protests" in favor of wiping out Israel on college campuses across the country. And were we to draw one of Kamala Harris's beloved Venn diagrams of "Muslims" and "Arab Americans," there would likely be an almost complete overlap.
The quiet part they aren't saying out loud? Governor Shapiro is Jewish. And he supports Israel, although he has been critical of Prime Minister Netanyahu.

What’s notable about Shapiro is that his opponent in the 2022 governor’s election was an insufferable, tone-deaf loser who had no money, barely campaigned, and let his opponent define him … and yet still managed to get more than 40% of the vote.
A few days ago, it was reported that Beshears got an upgraded security detail. I think it’s him for VP.

Little Joey Shapiro doesn’t put PA in the bag. The Trump team is running ads all the time here. But, Shapiro would be throwing away his so called moderate image.

Harris administration will absolutely destroy Pennsylvania energy sector and overall economy. Shapiro is a snake who has been governor for a a very short time. Maybe Pennsylvania voters will get sanity but Suburban Philadelphia women are the wild card and can be very weird.

NM? Really? A Republican hasn't won NM since 2004 (when Bush won it by about 6,000 votes). Since then, the state has gone +15 Obama in 2008, +10 Obama in 2012, +8 Clinton in 2016, and +10 Biden in 2020. NM is solidly blue at this point.
If Trump isn't winning MI, PA, or WI (and he only needs one of the three), then there's no way he's winning NM. At that point, longshot NH would be a more plausible reach than NM.
Or, if you like things spicy, NV + NE CD-2's 1 EV (which Trump had won in 2016) gets Trump to 269 . . . and then the fun begins.
In 2022, 12 states elected female governors. Twelve. Do you think it was males who elected them? Vance needs to get swapped out for a chick if Trump is going to have any chance at all. That’s why as stupid and as radical left and as much of a bully as she is, the Dems will nominate Harris at their convention. And will nominate another female as her VP because they know gyno voters from the left and the center are going to blitz the 2024 election. Anything to get a female in the oval office. Anything. With an all-female ticket, the Dems won’t need to worry about doing a steal.

Just like Biden, Kamala is going to have a tough time of threading that needle. If she picks a progressive VP she risks losing the mid-western or more moderate vote. If she picks a Jewish VP, or someone more moderate, she risks losing some progressive or anti-Israel votes.
I’m thinking she goes with Buttiggeg. He is white but gay so he checks a sufficient number of boxes. Plus, “C” supervisors hire “D” subordinates. She is a C and he is a D.
When she does we can then all get bumper stickers that say:
“Vote Trump/Vance or you’ll get a Harri/Butt”
