The Justice Department has agreed to settle claims by former senior FBI special agent Peter P. Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page, who had filed lawsuits accusing the government of violating their privacy rights by leaking their politically charged text messages criticizing Donald Trump.
Strzok’s attorneys say he will receive a $1.2 million settlement. Terms for Page were not disclosed.
Strzok and Page said they were illegally targeted for retribution by the Trump administration after the FBI investigated Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election.
Strzok, a former top counter-intelligence expert, was fired by the FBI in 2018 after news reports surfaced of his politically charged text messages with Page, in which the pair were criticizing Donald Trump while they were having an affair.
***Page’s Arnold & Porter law firm team, led by Amy Jeffress, added, "As Attorney General [Merrick] Garland recently testified in response to questions about this settlement, the Department settles cases based on the litigators’ assessment of the chances of success and the potential costs of losing the case. Here, the evidence was overwhelming that the release of text messages to the press in December 2017 was for partisan political purposes and was against the law. As the Attorney General explained: ‘It’s a question of the government paying for violating the law.’”
A spokeswoman for the Justice Department declined to comment outside of court filings.

scumbag pos should be in jail.
I don’t give a crap about the texts between two lovers. I want the unredacted texts regarding the insurance policy to “stop him” including hints of As the World Turns. This wasn’t a settlement, it was a reward.
Only time doj “settles” a case in Briben’s America is when it’s a fellow travelers. This is how it goes down:
1) Sue the government
2) Sit back, keep mouth shut, until right time
3) We’ll “settle” the case with you and you’ll get tax dollars hush money
4) win-win
I hope Pres. Trump reminds this agreement and finds something to charge these two with. Lawfare is the rule now.
They both belong in jail!
Strzok and Page should be in jail. Yet here they are collecting millions.
Finally! Properly rewarded for their service to the nascent Peoples’ Republic!
The truth shall set u rich
At least headline accurate
One on yahoo earlier made it sound like Trump was at fault
In TN lawyers get a third typically but can vary some depending on size
Less on monster cases
75% would be extraordinary
they should be behind bars! justice dept needs to be purged immediately
Lisa Page Divorced her husband, non profit executive Joseph Burrow, after Strzok fondled her vittles.
This is not over.
Treason and Espionage are capital offences punishable by death.
“This is not over.”
I pray that Trump has a list of all the traitors who tried to do him in. (That’s a couple legal pads of paper, I think.) And he absolutely MUST clean house, herding all of them together in one fell swoop. The ONLY way to even get the country back to a decent starting point is to imprison everyone who has spied against and/or betrayed America in other ways. Leaving just one free will be dangerous and the rot will continue.
Some want them in Gitmo. I prefer Alcatraz. It would be easier to conduct tours so we can walk through, point, and laugh.
I prefer death by firing squad for some.
The last espionagers suffering Capital Punishment were a husband and wife team, the Rosenbergs, both civilian US citizens.

Strzok, Page , Brennan, Clapper, Comey and several others.
The one very prominent and obvious fact is that if Trump can’t negotiate, make a deal, he does nothing.
All his mortal enemies are alive and well and totally unscathed.
I don’t think he can change. He won’t go after his mortal enemies
“I prefer death by firing squad for some.”
Actually, that IS better, and the legal end for traitors.
But, wouldn’t the point-and-laugh option be fun? Those arrogant SOBs peering out from behind bars? That would be tougher on them than quick, easy justice.
Re the Rosenbergs, I was only five, but have a memory riding in the car when Dad had the radio on and hearing about this. Which is weird because I have very few memories of my childhood. Why this?
“All his mortal enemies are alive and well and totally unscathed.
“I don’t think he can change. He won’t go after his mortal enemies.”
That is a sad fact. Allowing Hillary to skate on so many crimes might have been his biggest mistake. She should’ve been made an example to others. And Soros ... why is he still HERE? Another issue Trump easily could’ve addressed while in office.
Pull their time sheets. Were they on break when they wrote the politically charged e-mails?
Why this?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
THe Cold War had a deep impact on all of us. The nuclear threat was very real, and we had drills to get under our desks.
I remember it on the radio too and I was only 5.
