Rumors of Trump suffering buyer's remorse after choosing Vance as his 2024 running mate have been rampant since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the likely Democratic presidential nominee.
While Trump has publicly insisted that he is happy with Vance, saying the senator is "doing a fantastic job" and has been "very well received" by the public during a Fox News interview on Thursday, worries remain about whether the Ohio senator could be a liability for Republicans in November.
Paul Begala, who served as White House adviser and chief strategist during Clinton's successful 1992 campaign, suggested during a CNN appearance on Thursday night that Trump may decide to ditch Vance in favor of former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley.

Do not talk to me like that.
Re my comment #198 - you just answered my question.
People are forgetting the men who are childless. Are they cat ladies as well.
I looked to see if there were more childless men or women..and was it by choice. Saw some interesting studies done on this topic
Vance should not double down on this because he needs more than rabid Gop to win.
LOL.
Not worthy the electrons used to publish it.
Inclined to agree particularly because childless women comment could extend to young single women. As you stated, women, married, young, old and otherwise may not have been able to conceive and adoption is a lot harder than people realize. It’s a divine concept and women are the last people that he should alienate.
“I’d be sort of ok with Gabbard if she converts to Christianity.”
That’s what I think. And not just go to some church and get baptized and say, “I converted to Christianity”. There would have to be a moment when she accepts Christ in her heart and turns her life over to Him.
(That’s my problem with Vance’s Hindu wife. Wives have great influence over their husbands’ decisions. Always have; always will. As it should be — a 50-50 deal.)
“Nikki would be an absolutely horrible change.”
How would you feel about Sarah Sanders? I can’t even believe she wasn’t on his list of potentials (unless she was and I don’t remember it). Also, she might have told him, “No”, if he asked.
When trump team pay attention to posters like you it does them a disservice. Yes there are many like you here.
That is not the vote they need to win over.
They need to pay attention to the people who are telling them why this viewpoint is problematic.
Does Vance need to walk this back?
I don’t know
I just know it is offensive to me as a childless person to tell me I don’t have a stake in America’s future. Also offensive to me to say someone like Nick Cannon should have more votes than me which is what his Deminy viewpoint means.
“The childless cat lady comments will do nothing but strengthen the Trump-Vance ticket.”
I’ll still be voting for Trump, but JDV’s statement will have me going to the ballot box holding my nose. So, it won’t impact my vote, but I think it weakens the ticket for fence-sitting women.
“The cat lady remark was very funny.”
He said it on Tucker’s show, not interviewing for a stand-up gig at the Comedy Club. Not funny.
“Her appeal is that clobbered Harris in the debates,”
She was brutal, but honest about Harris’ history. I hope that video will be played often.
Hasn’t RFK endorsed Biden — which would most likely tranfer to Harris? (It’s hard to keep up these days.)
The childless cat lady comments will do nothing but strengthen the Trump-Vance ticket.
It connects with America and there are not that many childless women in this country.

I’m pretty sure the childless-cat lady constituency was already in the anyone but Trump camp. Don’t see him losing too many votes from that pool. Just say’n
...it’s like worrying about offending the pink-haired, nostril ring crowd.
“Eagleton was dropped because it came out heβd had electric shock treatment.”
I remember that. But for Democrats, in the 21st Century, it’s OK to have a POTUS who’s had two brain surgeries.
I have never voted for a Democrat in my life but I have not voted at times. The studies about men and women who are childless are interesting. I didn’t see any in my cursory search that broke it down by political affiliation.
There are a lot of people like you that don’t fit into the medical exclusion “my heart goes out” excuse.
No doubt there will be fence sitters in that category.
And Vance needs to pay attention to the fact that Kamala may fit into his “my heart goes out to them “ category
I don’t understand the Tulsi worshipers on FR. She is pretty much everything we’re against.
Imagine Trump having to leave the presidency after Jan. 2025, and America having a Hindu POTUS. Which one of her gods’ names will appear in the revised, “In God We Trust”?
Is it just me or has Trump already made his pick and told everyone that he is quite happy with his choice?
It is very sad to watch people participate in destroying our chances in 2024 and saddle the US with a truly despicable person Kamala Harris.
What has happened to Fight Fight Fight?
I could swear Trump didn’t say Throw in the towel throw in the towel throw in the towel.
“The studies about men and women who are childless are interesting. I didnβt see any in my cursory search that broke it down by political affiliation.”
That would be an interesting study, to add the field, “Political Affiliation” to the criteria.
You don’t think there are independents who are childless for any number of reasons including focusing on career for the time being.
Just take a look at one category. Young lawyers who want to make partner. Easier for a man than a woman. Even today women face challenges to have children when they are first starting a career and have to work the long hours necessary for the partner track.
