Sky News host Paul Murray says US President Joe Biden’s Oval Office speech was “frightening to watch”.
The 81-year-old ended his re-election campaign on Sunday after facing relentless pressure over his capabilities to lead amid concern around his cognitive state.
“What you saw was the battle between the ego of the man, the desperation of the people around him, the lie that we have been told increasingly as his health has deteriorated,” Mr Murray said.
“This was frightening.”

For me it was sad.
Reminded me of my dad at the end.
Sad that evil people care more about keeping power than helping a clearly befuddled senior.
My first reaction when I heard Biden not running for re-election was being glad for him. It was sad to see him going through all of that.
After watching the debate I thought “I hope our enemies don’t take advantage of the weak President.” I continue to think that. Although an injured animal is one of the most dangerous - best to just keep one’s distance and not provoke it.
