Many disputes arose a few years ago when the then-liberal U.S. Supreme Court created, in a decision condemned as unrelated to the Constitution, same-sex "marriage" for the entire nation.
One of the more vicious was a series of lawsuits against a Kentucky county clerk who declined to issue ANY marriage licenses for a time because of the conflict the court decision created with her own constitutionally protected religious rights.
An activist federal judge, David Bunning, took up the LGBT agenda and put Kim Davis in jail for a time. And two same-sex duos sued her for damages.

It may take similar cases brought in different parts of the country to get SCOTUS involved.
The real problem here is giving some aggrieved group, of which there is an infinite supply, the ability to use the court system to make people do things they don’t want to do. Take photos at gay weddings, bake cakes, plan the event, all of those things are happening in an aggressive in-your-face way when there are clearly alternative suppliers of all those things. This is like giving a two-year-old control over his parents. Pure, unadulterated evil. The court needs to not only stop this, but fine those who do it. I’d also disbar the attorneys who brought the cases.
How could this case for a birthday? Second, there are probably only two justices that would reverse it.
Here’s hoping.
We have to remember that Congress passed the Respect for Marriage Act, which explicitly legalized homosexual marriage, by statute law.
So even if the Supreme Court reversed itself, to rule that there is not some constitutional right to same sex marriage, that law is still there.
The Supreme Court ruled as they did, at a time when federal law banned homosexual marriage.
Legally, it’s not going to be that simple for the Supreme Court to overturn a previous ruling and then say that homosexual marriage is illegal again.
Quite a distance from “keeping the government out of the bedroom” to government mandated acceptance of that lifestyle.
WAY too late to put the genie back into the closet where it belongs...
long overdue.
nothing in the US constitution gives the federal level of govmt authority to legislate marriage law. without that the right to decide belongs to the people and/or the states.
Oberkfell must be overturned.
Reverse it and let each state decide. Nothing in the constitution supports homosexuality, nor says we must “marry” perverted homosexuals.
I don’t really care if gays want to be married, if they want to go through the absolute struggle of marriage and divorce LET THEM who cares!!
Alternate suggestion: Feed them to the lions at the local zoo.
“WAY too late to put the genie back into the closet where it belongs...”
Agreed. Living in Las Vegas I know quite a few in same-sex marriages and have spent much time in prayer about it, especially as some are colleagues. God considers it a cutting of covenant, but not a marriage and He does not approve of the sexual activity involved in it. It becomes woe to those who cut such a covenant.

God does.
Some decades back, I learned what I could about the Homosexual community. What I learned would shock most Americans. They see them as harmless and playful, when they are in fact a very dangerous group.
The wider group doesn't give a fig about "marriage." They wanted "gay marriage" for the same reason Satanists want their own after school clubs. Not because they actually want it, but because it damages Christian concepts and ideas.
The "normal" gay people want to have endless orgies. During the hey day of San Fransisco bath houses, the average gay would engage in 10 sexual encounters in a night.
That is with 10 different people. The homosexual community is the largest repository of sexually transmitted diseases in the nation. They've got all of them, and usually very bad and extensive cases of them.
For these people, "gay marriage" is about mocking real marriage, and also about forcing people to put publicly acknowledge them as a "normal" part of society.
Actual gay marriages are a very small percentage of the gay community. I've read articles written by gays claiming "marriage" is anathema to the gay lifestyle, and anyone doing that is a traitor to "gayness."
This group is nuts. They belong in asylums, as we used to confine them back when the nation was still sane.
While there's no way that the USSC will overturn it on Constitutional grounds (Obergfell v. Hodges), the FACT is that the Constitution does NOT, in any way, endorse sodomite behavior.
Likewise, the Congress passing the "SAFE" act would be found Un-Constitutional, as a result, and ALL the nonsense about sex deviates having some kind of "Rights", which no one else has, is contrary to the 14th Amendment's Equal Protection clause, for NORMAL citizens.
Just as baby-killing was left to the States, so should the rump rangers and dykes activities be decided.
Red states=decency, Blue states=depravity.....that's "America" today.
When Muslims take over America (demographics is destiny), they will do much more than just get rid of homosexual marriage. Much more.
should have always been a state issue.
