Who is Kamala Harris? A disturbing and haunting record.

Kamala Devi Harris was born to an Indian mother and a Jamaican father in Oakland, California on October 20, 1964. She is, in part, a descendant of a Jamaican slave owner, as Harris’ father, Donald J. Harris, explained in a January 2019 essay which he wrote about his family’s heritage.

Both sides of Harris’ family were upper-class political figures in their respective countries, with money and power. Harris’ father was a professor of economics at Stanford University who served as an adviser to multiple Jamaican prime ministers.

Both of Harris’ parents were far leftists who, in the early 1960s, were active in the Berkeley-based Afro-American Association (AAA), which, according to one former member, consisted of many people who looked to “Fidel Castro and Che Guevara” as their “heroes.” “We would talk about Black Muslims, the liberation movements going on in Africa, everything,” this member recalls. AAA leader Donald Warden mentored two of the group’s members, Huey Newton and Bobby Seale, who in 1966 would collaborate to establish the Black Panther Party. Years thereafter, Warden — who by then had changed his name to Khalid al-Mansour — would use his influence to help Barack Obama gain admission to Harvard Law School.

Soft on Crime
During her tenure as San Francisco district attorney (2004-11), the**( number of prison terms per arrest in San Francisco were California’s lowest)** — ten times lower than the corresponding rate in San Diego County.

She bragged about how good she did when she held that office when pimping herself yesterday.

A master at BS

People with smartazz attitudes as shown in this clip deserve to be taken down a few notches, if not smacked into next week

She acts like she’s 12-years-old - just completely awkward right there

But, she has a title - so we’re allowed political commentary

From the 12th Amendment: . . . no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.

Having served as VP, nothing in the Constitution prevents her from the presidency.

So sorry.

You are right-you would think that with all the real and glaringly obvious reasons that Que Mala is not qualified for the job she’s applied for, the not-a-natural-born-citizen folks would pick one of those real ones to howl about on every thread. Maybe they just like to shout as an exercise in futility-it makes no sense...

The one thing that must not be forgotten - and always is - is that Kamala is from a family that owned slaves❗ Of course a Republican would be driven out of the public forum with a whip👈 but it will never be mentioned in connection with Kamala - UNLESS the 'pubbies bring it up.🤷‍♂️

The folks must NEVER know that the Demo'Rat Party still supports slavery... why hide it❓

It actually makes plenty of sense. When you dig just beneath the surface of an NBC kook, you will find a racist.

The real reason why they are so antagonistic to Kamala, Nikki, Vivek, etc. is not because they wrongly accuse them of not being citizens, it’s because they are “them brown people”.

Jim Rob actually made one of his rare and infrequent posts the other day calling out MMM.

Yeah, that’s a lovely pothole in her family history.

No, the pubbies shouldn’t bring it up, UNLESS Kamala or a media toadie brings up reparations. Then the fight is on!

Really-I missed that-do you remember what day so I can look for it?

I suppose one reason I will never understand racists is because my parents taught me to be colorblind, my dad was in the military-and I’m Hispanic. In W Texas, we did not experience racism as such...

You really and clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. Just for starters, the Constitution doesn’t define natural born citizens.

Two decades ago almost no one would dare say or believe that an anchor baby was a natural born citizen.

The whole point of making sure a president was a natural born citizen was to make sure there were no foreign interests by which they might be influenced. If their parents were foreigners, familial ties could affect such an anchor baby’s loyalties. That clearly would be a great concern for the nation

I don’t know who your “leading constitutional scholars” are, but you definitely need to be researching more and listening to different scholars.

Vice President Kamala Harris is eligible to be the president of the United States because she was born in the U.S., automatically making her a citizen, leading constitutional scholars say, contradicting online posts that revive an old and discredited narrative saying she is ineligible because her parents were “foreign nationals.”

Harris is a “natural born citizen” of the U.S. as defined by the Constitution and her parents’ citizenship status at the time of her birth does not affect her eligibility for the presidency.

However, the term “natural born citizen” describes Harris. According to a Cornell Law School Legal Information Institute explanation of the term, opens new tab, “anyone born on U.S. soil and subject to its jurisdiction is a natural born citizen, regardless of parental citizenship.”

The 14th amendment to the U.S. Constitution grants citizenship to all people who are either born in or “naturalized” to the United States, according to a U.S. Senate website description of the amendment, opens new tab.
The false claim that Harris is ineligible for the presidency stems from an Aug. 12, 2020, opinion article, opens new tab published in Newsweek about Harris’s eligibility to be vice president. The article was updated two days after publication with an Editor’s note apologizing for the article’s use as a tool to spread “birtherism” narratives. The claim was amplified by comments made by former U.S. President Donald J. Trump in 2020, who said in a news conference, opens new tab that he would have to look into whether Harris was eligible to serve as vice president.
Michael C. Dorf, professor of law at Cornell Law School, said in an email that the claim relies on “a crackpot theory” and is “roundly criticized by leading constitutional scholars.”
An August 2020 letter, opens new tab analyzing the claim signed by more than 40 scholars in law and politics, including Dorf, reads, “It is important for the public record to reflect just how baseless this idea is, and how it runs completely counter to the meaning of both Article II and Section 1 of the Fourteenth Amendment.”

VERDICT
False. Posts suggesting that U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris is ineligible to be president are based on a false claim that Harris is not a “natural born citizen” of the U.S.

I note you didn’t address my earlier critique.

I further note your “verdict” doesn’t quote any SCOTUS holdings.

Reuters is certainly not an unbiased or authoritative source, befitting the qualification of “worthless.”
