Clyburn: Biden ‘Couldn’t Do Anything About’ Grocery Prices
Breitbart ^ | 07/23/2024 | IAN HANCHETT

Posted on 07/23/2024 6:41:36 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

On Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) argued that “People focused on the rising price of food,” but President Joe Biden “couldn’t do anything about” grocery prices.

Clyburn said, “People focused on the rising price of food, yes. But he countered that — he couldn’t do anything about those grocery prices, but he could do something about the pharmaceutical prices. And he drove down the price of pharmaceuticals in a way that no president has ever done. And, once again, when Harry Truman left the presidency, he said the one thing that he regretted was not being able to deliver universal health care for everybody. Joe Biden took up that mantle, passed through Barack Obama with the Affordable Care Act, and look what he did, starting January, $2,000 a year would be the max that people on Medicare will be paying for pharmaceuticals, no matter if the medicine cost $10,000 a month. He has done what is necessary to put a ceiling on the cost of insulin. My late wife was paying $600 a month for her insulin, being a four-shot-a-day diabetic. That, today, the top [is] $35 a month. So, if you take it in silos, it’s one thing. But if you take it all together, not being able to control grocery prices over here, but I can do something about medicine over here, and that was a net benefit to every family across America.”

Where to even start? How about energy, the cost to truck groceries? You’re right, this is some kind of stupid.

Then why did he and YOU shout the praises of the Inflation Reduction Act if he had no control over “grocery prices?”

Because WIN ("Whip Inflation Now") buttons have been shown to be ineffective at quieting the masses.

Complete nonsense

They were told and told and told their polices were pouring gasoline on the inflation fire started by their horrible Energy polices

Democrats voted for this. They wanted this and now, in typical Democrat politician fashion, they are blaming everyone else for what they did.

Is it a requirement that any politician or journalist be a moron?

It sure seems so!

Biden couldn’t do anything about grocery prices except:

1) Allow the Keystone XL Pipeline to be completed, and resume drilling on Federal lands which would keep oil prices low, which in turn keeps food transportation prices and food fertilizer prices low.

2) Block the entry of 10+ million illegal aliens, lowering demand for food.

3) Not gone on a $6 Trillion spending spree, thus keeping inflation (and food prices) low.

Nope, nothing he could have done, no siree.

Trucks use diesel.

Trucks deliver food.

“Drill, baby, drill” would lower the price of diesel.

Lower shipping costs = lower price of groceries.

And lower diesel prices lowers the costs of operating farm machinery.

Mike Lindell was talking about the cost of shipping and how it’s sky rocketed. Of course shutting down energy production from day 1 of FJB’S Regime had no impact on the economy & prices of everything including groceries, right? /s The Dementiacrats don’t even rate a “stupid” label ... maybe brain dead & that’s certainly been FJB for the last 3.5 years.

Gotcha Jimmy. You’re right. Your boy Joe Pedo has never produced even one bag of groceries in his worthless Scrantonass lifetime.

I never heard his voice before until a few days ago. He’s exactly as inarticulate, idiotic and ghetto as I would assume. He’s a “ringmaker”? I guess Willie Brown was also.

“democrats broke the entire world with their reaction to covid.”

They printed FIVE TRILLION dollars and gave it away to people so they have cash to spend. Then they shut down businesses, schools and factories so there were no products to spend that cash on.

“Too many dollars chasing too few products” is the very definition of inflation.

The price of food went up because the prices of hydrocarbons for fertilizer manufacture, tractor fuel, food processing, food transport and food refrigeration went up.

Fuel shot up when Biden canceled the Keystone Pipeline.
