I put it on Rachel who they dragged in. She had on no makeup and talked for a solid 15 minutes without taking a breath. I had to change channels because I couldn’t stand listening to her. They are truly mentally ill.
Oh, the June 27, 2024 debate certainly kicked off this cascade. That would make it a 24-day odyssey.
But on more concentrated, eight short days basis, from July 13 the Nation - nay, World, has seen:
-assassination attempt on Trump,
- Biden asks for calm, then calls Trump a threat to democracy,
-RNC convention with Trump appearance with bandaged ear, -Secret Service under fire,
-Biden rambles thru Lester Holt and George Snuffelepegus interviews that dig a deeper hole
-Dems from Pelosi on down demand Biden steps down,
-VP selection in Vance,
-Trump delivers a magnificent Presidential acceptance speech,
-Biden surrenders the Dem nomination.
And I’m skipping over a lot of stuff.
With the possible exception of the 3 Days that Shook the Nation when Kennedy was assassinated, Jack Ruby kills Oswald, and the funeral, I can’t think of anything that comes close.
I’ve never done a Vanity post, but I may on this one.

Ya gotta admit, this has been a pretty stunning 8 days in the history of American Politics.

Don’t know who will write the history books in the future, but this feels like one of those ‘you had to be there’ moments. One candidate nearly assassinated on one weekend and the other drops out the next. We are living in interesting times.
