"I loathe Joseph Biden. He has been a cancer to our Republic for over half a century. Everything he has ever done has been at the bidding of his party, always putting their power over any devotion to America first.

That said, he is still the President of the United States, as gruesome a reality as that may be. In what universe does Nancy Pelosi or any other swamp creature from the Democrat Party cesspool in Washington have the right to decide he must step down as president, simply because he is doing poorly in the polls? Is there not a single Democrat who can remind these monsters that we have a Constitution and a process by which our leaders are chosen? More importantly we have processes in place by which our leaders are likewise removed from office. Democrats have consistently abused those processes in their unabashed ongoing coup against President Trump, while he was in office, and now that he is running for office once again. Those efforts have alarmed and disturbed many decent Americans. The best among us believe in our country above party. As painful as it is to say this, I believe the effort to remove Joseph Biden from office without due process of the law is literally a coup against the sitting president and must be fought against as vigorously as we would fight against the coup of a president we love. These wild insurrections by Democrats against current President Biden and former President Donald Trump must stop. Democrats must obey the rule of law and honor the Constitution of the United States of America, or this nation is going to be in the same turbulent state it was in 164 years ago. And that is a price we simply cannot afford.

There is a constitutional process to remove a sitting president, and to ignore it would be the true 'threat to democracy.' "

the right to decide he must step down as president https://freerepublic.com/perl/post?id=4252772%2C1#help

They want him to drop his campaign.

Removing a President isn’t the same thing as asking/telling him not to run for re-election.

The Dems are heading for a "soft" coup. For Pelosi & Co. to apply political pressure, badmouth him in public, or threaten to remove political support (e.g., blocking his initiatives) are not technically illegal - heck, we conservatives do it all the time!

But when they start coercing cabinet members (not saying they have!) to invoke the 25th, it starts getting interesting.

Regards,

Technically, the Constitution does say that the states choose the method of selecting Electors to the Electoral College, so it says something about it.

That said, the states may certainly weigh in on the Democrats' plans if they made the states conduct sham primary elections, only to ignore those results at the last minute because their candidate is losing badly in the polls.

If the Democrats pull a fast one here, I'd like to see some states sue the Democrat National Committee for the cost of holding the Democrat primary in their state if the results of that election are subsequently ignored for political opportunism.

It’s quite stunning the Demorats trying to take out both Trump and Biden......looks like they’re trying real hard to destroy “Democracy!!!”

The coup has already been completed.

If you believe Biden is in charge of anything beyond and likely including his own bowels, you have not been paying attention.

Democrats see “process” as something that they can sometimes “use.” When process does not “work,” they simply ignore it. I welcome Woods’ article.

If Biden wants to “invite” someone to his home because he values their opinion, that is ok.

I expect that staffs talk to staffs and a Democrat big wig shows up. Biden is told to get dressed (with help) for his meeting. It’s more like the inner workings of the Politburo than anything respectful of our institutions.

I remember Biden bragging that he defied Congress and the courts to provide some give-away to a portion of his base. I see ads saying he will get tough (price controls?) at the pump and on housing. I saw people bullied into getting an ineffective shot. To our one-party press, there is no such thing as abuse of power when it is done by a Democrat.

“They’re not merely asking/telling him to not run... they’re running a sleazy shadow campaign through the media to sow fear ....”

It’s what they do. The press is very much complicit.

I remember when we had Kremlinologists who made inferences based upon where people sat in group photos. Now, people look to see who said what in planted pieces in the NYTs and WaPo.

Insiders decide. The press is as eager as a shepherd dog or a cutting horse to round up the voters.

All intelligent people knew exactly what Joe Biden was when he first appeared on television back in the 20th century.

This coup literally shows that neither the political left nor most of the main stream media have absolutely no interest in Constitutional processes or the “rule of law.”

Power achieved and maintained at ANY AND ALL costs . . .

I always thought he would take a long weekend sometime where it would be said he had a health situation and that Kamalla would be installed and we would never hear anything about Biden again.

That may still happen but they waited way too long.

It was always strange to me how everyong lined up behind Biden in 2020 so quickly. One wonders about the ‘deal’that was made then and how it would play out. Biden now is playing the double cross by refusing to give up power.

To serve out his term it has to be a health issue that doesn’t affect decision making for him to continue. Any reference to a cognitive issue means he needs to be removed now.

I don’t think the two things are mutually exclusive, and even more, I do think they are (and should be) completely linked.

If Biden is forced to step aside because ostensibly they don’t think he is capable (he isn’t and has not been) then wouldn’t they be obligated to have him removed immediately by invoking the 25th amendment?

They can all play kabuki theater and say what they want but the bottom line is that if the party proceeds with efforts to turn around their ticket in mid-stream, they are disenfranchising millions of people who have already cast their vote for Biden.

And if the rationale is good enough to do that, it is damn well good enough to remove him from office. But they don’t want to do that, because that has hazards for them as well.

It is clear that Biden and his grasping wife don’t want to go, simply because they enjoy the trappings of power too much to give it up without a fight. And because they swim in the same evil polluted waters that Biden swims in, they are right to be concerned with what Biden and his allies may do to maintain their grip on the reins of power.

Don’t forget this isn’t charting the course of the Democrat party in the service of The United States of America the way we might view it.

This is about charting the course of the Pro-Biden forces instead of the Pro-Harris or Pro-XYZ forces, and there are a lot of entities in each force who are calculating the risk or benefit to themselves (not even the “force” they might be aligned with). Granted, there are people in those “forces” right now, eyeing each other warily to see who is going to jump ship and desert to one of the other factions to save their own political skin. And people are going to remember who did what.

And if one of them chooses the wrong side, they will be deprived not just of the trappings of power, but any actual position in any gravy-train supplied government position they may have had. Bottom line, there are a lot of personal and fiancial risks. They are all aware of the precedent, and none of them wants to be a modern day Leon Trotsky in the Democrat Party.

Make no mistake-they may or may not have an actual electronic document with names and checkboxes, filed on some computer hard drive somewhere, but there are ears listening, eyes watching, and checkboxes are being mentally ticked off by many people on this, and the fallout could be severe for those on the wrong side.

And just as overlooked in all of this: these anti-American, anti-Constitutional meat-bags of human waste have to be cautious about exposing to the public the machinations they use behind closed doors to maintain control of the levers of power. They can’t let people see the set of surgical instruments they last used when Bernie Sanders was in the race and they fixed it for people like Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton. That risks exposing them to public scrutiny, which is something they don’t want.

In the end, they have someone who is not capable of governing currently holding office steadfastly maintaining that he is not going to leave, and has had millions of people vote for him in primaries already. Unless they are willing to also justify using the 25th Amendment to justify denying those people their franchise in this primary and thus, in the general election, they cannot have one without the other.

They can’t just say to millions of Americans who voted for Joe Biden that they think he is a poor candidate and they think someone else will have a better chance of winning so they are going to swap him out and choose their own candidate. Granted, you and I know this is exactly what they do by many other means, but...the simple act of doing it in the open where it is seen by everyone crosses a Rubicon they shouldn’t (and don’t want to) cross, exposes them for what they are.

The Democrats are caught on the horns of a dilemma, and they know it.

Democrats love rules when they can be used to control and neuter the opposition.

Rules are just tools for the democrats to use as they please for their own personal gain, just like everything else, people included.
