Republican senators confronted Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday over the attempted assassination of former President Trump on Saturday, telling her that they owe the people and the president "answers."
Video shows Sens. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., and John Barrasso, R-Wyo., confronting Cheatle in Milwaukee. Sens. James Lankford, R-Okla., and Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., were also involved.
"Stonewalling," Barrasso can be heard yelling at Cheatle as she moves through the convention center.
"This was an assassination attempt, you owe the people answers, you owe President Trump answers," Blackburn said.
In a separate longer video, the senators can be seen questioning Cheatle. In response to their questions, she says that it isn't an appropriate place to have the discussion, but says she is happy to answer questions, before leaving the suite. It is at that point she is yelled at by the lawmakers.

I’m thinking did she go there to oversee her agents? Then I thought, no way would she show her face.
How does she go there and not talk to Trump?
No way on Earth Biden or Mayorkas wants her talking to Trump. But if she’s there, she HAS to.
She’s been told not to talk…how does she go to the RNC and not talk to Senators, Congressmen and the past and future president?
My guess is, in congessional testimony she will say “I can’t discuss that because it’s an ongoing investigation.” If she does show up.
And do it so publicly... Knowing she’d be seen. If we find she went and spoke with Trump privately, all bets are off.
Still a possibility she’ll claim she so concerned for Trump now, she thought she’d help out with the agents on the ground.

She’s put herself in a place tonight where she has to talk to them. It’s also a place where she’s safe from retribution. She’s going to be talking to to Senators, Congressmen and Trump. She can’t avoid it. I think that’s the specific reason she is there.
Hold on, the craziest stuff in American history may be going down tonight.
She was literally running away from the questions. She was headed for the tall grass.

My first thought was what in tarnation was she there...Trying to rationalize it, I then thought, it was a show of support for her agents on the ground...My next thought was...no, not likely, no way....

Maybe. The video seems to show that she went through a door and shut the senators out. Marsha Blackburn said she would not answer questions. Who knows.
Senators: You owe President Trump answers.
Chief: I don’t owe you squat. (Pulls out her official, notarized Affirmative Action Privilege card.)

Cheatle can be heard saying that she doesn’t “think that this is the form to have this discussion,” and that the suite she was in was to “thank the partners that have helped secure the Republican National Convention, and I would not want to take away from their evening.”
She wouldn’t say anything in that kind of setting. She’d only say it to certain people, in private, in return for certain protections . It wasn’t going to happen in that hallway.
But if she was there for some other reason to continue the stonewall and cover-up, it was the stupidest thing any of us have seen.
