I still don’t see it. These guys have massive egos. If he drops out now, that’s his legacy. That he was too old and unable to win.

It buys him time. He sets up a condition that the Biden troika controls with no expectation of meeting it. Remember, Obama once talked about not running for re-election and Francis talked about resigning the papacy. It is meant to divide and hamper.
