Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino made a stunning revelation about security failures which led to former president Donald Trump coming within inches of being assassinated.
During an appearance on Donald Trump Jr.’s podcast “Triggered,” Bongino revealed that the rooftop from which the failed Trump assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks fired shots, was supposed to be covered by law enforcement personnel.
Bongino revealed he was told this by an “unimpeachable source” who was knowledgeable about the situation.
“That post, according to my source, that roof was supposed to be a police post. It was supposed to be someone there,” he said.
“They’re now making up excuses, saying the pitch of the roof… my source says to me, no one knows why the post didn’t show up,” Bongino revealed.
He added that Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle has been instructed by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to “keep her mouth shut if she wants to remain in her post.
Cheatle has refused to resign from her post following the aftermath of the assassination attempt.
The Secret Service identified a high-profile security vulnerability in the building but failed to protect the rooftop.
Moreover, security forces did not take notice of Crooks roughly 30 minutes before the shooting.
One law enforcement asset even managed to snap a photo of the suspect, though he was not confronted.
Cheatle attempted to explain why the rooftop wasn’t covered.
“That building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point. And so, you know, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof,” the Secret Service director said in a statement to ABC News.
“And so, you know, the decision was made to secure the building, from inside.”
“They’re not putting that out there. But if you get those site post logs and those police instructions and it was a post on there and they didn’t show up and no one checked, someone could have got your dad killed,” Bongino said. “Within millimeters.”

Bongino said he would be revealing more details on his podcast.
“You’re telling me the best technology you have was deployed and you missed a shooter 130 yards? Say it was 200 yards,” Bongino told Fox News.
The Secret Service CS team, Pete, the counter-sniper team? And I’m not sure those two guys are Secret Service. We have to remember that we don’t always, when we go to New York sometimes with high-level protectees we’ll use NYPD ESU counter-sniper. So I’m not really sure.”
“Either way, they’d still be briefed in. The question we have to ask is, if that’s the best technology we have, and we had a CS team up there with a shooter that, you know, we’re trained out to a thousand yards in the Secret Service with the counter-sniper team. How did they miss someone at most, you know, one-fifth of the way there? It doesn’t make any sense.”

In addition to someone on the roof there should have been a two or three person detail patrolling the exterior of that building the entire day. That is just security 101.
Right so the lone gunmen just got lucky and went to the spot without a police sniper on top? How did he just know that spot would be open? Why did nothing obscure the line of sight from that roof to the spot Trump stood? The Deep State wanted Trump dead, but Dementia Joe screwed it up somehow with diversity hires.

I forget which security vet claimed the day after that Josh Shapiro was involved, because there was a local officer standdown, but it’s pretty clear that the SS was in on it either way.
FBI and USSS don't seem to be talking about that, and I haven't seen any media ask them. Hmmmmm.....
That might lend credence to the theory that local law enforcement didn’t immediately engage the shooter on the roof. Yes, they should probably have been able to recognize that he wasn’t wearing anything like a known uniform, but the was still enough doubt there that no one wanted to go blazing away.

I don’t know which is more obnoxiously insulting to intelligence. Suggesting that a 11 degree roof pitch is too much to man, or that you can “secure the building” from the inside when your job is to SECURE THE PRESIDENT!

It’s just not believable to me that THAT particular building was left unsecured.
Also, how many other times has thee been an obvious hole in security at a TRUMP rally and nobody happened to slip through.....I seriously doubt this is the first time.
If the shooter had turned out to be Chinese, as originally guessed, calling it a sloped roof would have been a racial slur and gotten people fired faster than the acts of incompetence. :/

I have yet to see who the supervising agent on the ground at the venue was. Who was the person in charge, making the decisions? Who signed off on all of this as it was going down? Will we ever know? 99% chance she’s DEI.
Has anyone seen the supposed bullet hole in Trump’s jacket or shirt??? I just read that possibly a bullet hit his bulletproof vest and ricocheted - if true, is that the one that hit the retired fire chief????
Also, speculation there is another shooter which would account for the hydraulic lift being hit - by a bullet from Crooks. You stick someone barely out of high school, one who was not let in the rifle club because he is a terrible shot and expect him to hit a target several hundred yards away???? There is another shooter, I have no doubt.
There was a woman vendor who goes to all the rallies selling Trump gear who said that day was different. There are usually trucks and cranes making a wall and that day there were not.
A candidate rally is starting to seem like a state visit by Elizabeth I. Runs a good chance of bankrupting and exhausting the locals.
Don’t Secret Service agents have to be as tall or taller than who they protect ?
…no big equipment blocking fields of fire, no plexiglass protection…
There should be a detailed plan by the SS that provides what was required for security of the area, basically just like a military OPORD. This needs to be checked.
Also, it needs to be compared to some previous rally plans to show if there was a downgrade in protection as has been reported.
