Elon Musk moving X and SpaceX to Texas after California’s Newsom signs student gender identity law: ‘Final straw’
The New York Post ^ | 07/16/2024 | Thomas Barrabi

Posted on 07/16/2024 2:24:11 PM PDT by thegagline

Billionaire Elon Musk said Tuesday he will shift the headquarters of privately held SpaceX and social media site X to Texas from California as a result of Gov. Gavin Newsom signing a new gender identity law for students.

The law, signed Monday, blocks school districts from requiring teachers to notify parents about changes in a student’s gender identity or sexual orientation without the child’s permission. It also requires the state’s Department of Education to create resources for families of LGBTQ+ students from seventh grade through high school.

“This is the final straw,” Musk wrote on X. “Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas”

Musk added that he made “it clear to Governor Newsom about a year ago that laws of this nature would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children.”

In another post, the billionaire added that the San Francisco headquarters for X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, will move to Austin, Texas.

“Have had enough of dodging gangs of violent drug addicts just to get in and out of the building,” Musk wrote on X.

There will ALWAYS be pockets of states infected with gimmedats, and run by “Progressives”. Until a few decades of cutting off the wealth-redistribution of Taxpayer dollars to buy their votes, and forcing the parasites to find a job, or go to jail as they usually do.

Yep! Slowly we are losing Texas it’ll be inevitable. We will become California in the very near future. Too many Californians moving in and add the massive massive number of illegal aliens spells doom. I’m telling you folks right here Texas is massively changing. If it was not true Austin Texas would not be a liberal cesspool. Yes you have a liberal university there but the transfers are from outside Texas are making it 100 times worse. And Abbott ain’t doing diddly squat about it. He needs to round up some of those illegals and send them back to California Martha’s Vineyard more to New York City they just keep coming by huge planes from other nations across our ocean and dumped in city airports across the nation. They are literally building A massive housing community resembling a small town for the illegals outside of Houston . Paxton promised to look into it and he never did. The construction continues. But we have to remember our state capital is run by money hungry power RINO LUNATICS!

Why move to Texas? I think if I owned a company I would move it to Kingman, AZ.

Kingman also has meth…lots and lots of meth.

Are you sure it is Austin?

I literally put in bold and underlined the salient sentence. Yes, Austin.

Perhaps there should be a rule here that before a comment is made, the commenter must certify that they fully read the article and understood it.

Austin was a liberal cesspool with street people, crime and drugs downtown and other places when I was in college-that was in the early-mid 70’s. We ranch kids used to get a group together and drive there to see the stoners downtown and the naked people at Hippie Hollow-great fun-go there, have a few beers at one of the bars then drive back home...

Elon Musk is a no-nonsense kind of dude-and most of the good stuff of his is being moved to the Brownsville area-on the coast. Apparently just tech and admin stuff in Austin-if so, he will improve Austin by hiring people who have a functioning brain and don’t stay stoned and homeless...

I live east of Reno.

Lance Gilman developed Tahoe Reno Industrial Center—Tesla was his first buyer of land.

LYON COUNTY -—east of Storey County—has RE-ZONED the land on the WEST SIDE of US Hwy 95-A into INDUSTRIAL ZONING. FROM FERNLEY at I-80 south to the Carson River-—past U S HWY 50...which is current under doubling those lanes from Silver Springs to Fallon. THAT rezoning is about 30 miles.

I WOULD highly RECOMMEND that MUSK set up a land purchase along that corridor & MOVE COMPLETELY OUT of the FREMONT facilities.

Currently, Batteries made at TRIC here in N Nevada are shipped by road to Fremont.

Calif is collecting a “SPECIAL FEE” for every truck because those batteries are hazardous. FUNNY-—they are not hazardous for a fee when in the cars.

Those transportation costs-—NO special fees—and the headaches of doing ANYTHING inside Calif would sure have me thinking about doing such.

ELON is pretty smart.

I THINK that would erase his California footprint—unless there are some offices in SF area.

WHILE I CURRENTLY live along that corridor & would NOT LIKE to see such growth—I would love to see ELON do a F U to Newsom.

Your rage is totally misplaced. His current headquarters is in Austin but he is moving the company to outside Brownsville.

Rio Grande Valley residents are reacting after Elon Musk revealed he's moving SpaceX headquarters to Brownsville. The announcement was made on his platform "X". The current headquarters is in Hawthorne, California.

No nearby tech centers or tech schools to draw from or set up internship programs at. Think about it.

From your own source--he's moving production from Hawthorne,Ca. to Starbase, Tx. I recommend you look up the location of Starbase, Tx. And before you vent ("ugh!") another time I recommend you chill out.
