According to that guy interviewed by the BBC, the shooter was crawling up the slope of the building - the side that was not visible to where Trump was. But he said he and other were screaming at the police and SS and pointing to the roof. But they mostly ignored him - not sure of why.

SNIPER IS TRAINED ON TARGET - BUT WAITS! THEN JERKS RIFLE UPWARD! I’m not a sniper, but a rifleman, and this does not make sense!
Like he was instructed to not take out roof-top guy with rifle UNTIL AFTER HE HAD FIRED!
Why were OUR/SS snipers not on the SAME roof as shooter? It was so close ... all surrounding areas should’ve been covered/secured.
I’ve seen better protection at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.

Well, as you describe it, the sniper failed to do his job. He should have taken out the shooter because he knew he was not another SS agent.

I had exact same thought. They have no business protecting anyone but a smaller woman!
The witness the BBC interviewed said he ddidn’t think the snipers had a good line of sight because of a roof overhang.
Also read that DHS has been dragging it’s feet on more SS resources for Trump. That’s why all the roofs weren’t covered.
I am reminded of the scene in “Serpico” where the entry team set Serpico up as the first guy in the door and then held back long enough for him to take a bullet before backing him up as they should have. I wonder why that scene popped into my head after all these years.
I don’t think PDJT likes the “boy in the bubble look” at his rallies. “Man of the people...” His position on the matter may have changed today.
