Palestinians say Microsoft unfairly closing their accounts
BBC ^ | 12th July 2024 | Mohamed Shalaby and Joe Tidy

Posted on 07/12/2024 9:44:25 PM PDT by Cronos

Palestinians living abroad have accused Microsoft of closing their email accounts without warning - cutting them off from crucial online services.

They say it has left them unable to access bank accounts and job offers - and stopped them using Skype, which Microsoft owns, to contact relatives in war-torn Gaza. Microsoft says they violated its terms of service - a claim they dispute.

"They killed my life online," said Eiad Hametto, who lives in Saudi Arabia.

"They’ve suspended my email account that I’ve had for nearly 20 years - It was connected to all my work," he told the BBC.

...Israel launched its offensive in Gaza in response to the Hamas attack on 7 October, which killed about 1,200 people. The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza says more than 38,000 people have been killed in the war.

With a paid Skype subscription, it is possible to call mobiles in Gaza cheaply - and while the internet is down - so it has become a lifeline to many Palestinians.

Some of the people the BBC spoke to said they suspected they were wrongly thought to have ties to Hamas, which Israel is fighting, and is designated a terrorist organisation by many countries.

...Microsoft did not respond directly when asked if suspected ties to Hamas were the reason for the accounts being shut.

But a spokesperson said it did not block calls or ban users based on calling region or destination. "Blocking in Skype can occur in response to suspected fraudulent activity," they said, without elaborating.

Fakestinian terrorists and their enablers and supported use the internet to plan and arrange attacks on innocent people. As well as spreading their false “Palestinian” narrative and more lies that lead to more violence

All this krap is dangerous and needs to be ended.

Google says......

Is supporting a terrorist organization illegal?

The Antiterrorism Act also created 18 U.S.C. § 2339B, which makes it unlawful, within the United States, or for any person who is subject to the jurisdiction of the United States anywhere, to knowingly provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization that has been designated by the Secretary of State.

Microsoft has every right to terminate business with terrorists.

Has The Squad found out about this yet? Seems to me they are the first ones who should have had Microsoft service disconnects.

All three of them.

I guess that the question is whether MS can prove that these people are terrorists. Perhaps the fakestinians ought not protest too much about this. Now that they’re identified shouldnt be too difficult to see what’s going on under the hood here.

Gaza is a war zone thanks to Hamas, which was elected by the people of Gaza. If the internet is closed down, elect better leaders.

Microsoft has a 5G limit of how much free storage you can use. If you go beyond that, then your account freezes. B And I’m sure all the activity related to the war easily uses the 5G. Increasing your storage limit to 100G is relatively cheap, but the Palis probably don’t want to spring for it.

70+% of Gazans support the slaughter of innocent Jews any time it is possible.

I’m not gonna lose any sleep when they can’t Skype the severed heads with kippahs.

The accounts would already be closed if they supported the
Domestic terrorism group called MAGA.
