Yeah, because it stops incoming rockets and missiles from hitting population centers. Objections to that are stupid. It saves lives, on both sides. Until the rampage on October 7 Iron Dome prevented Israel from having to use full force retaliation.
One could argue that because Iron Dome was so successful, Israel let its guard down believing that they could contain Gaza's problems to Gaza. The last 8 months or so shows what happens without systems like the Iron Dome. A barrage of rockets landing in Tel Aviv a decade ago would have resulted in the same thing happening to Gaza now. Iron Dome prevented it until that hoard came in rampaging, looting, raping, murdering innocent children, women and men. Gaza needs to suck it up and accept Israel's right to live in peace if they expect it to be reciprocated.
It makes no difference who recognizes a "Palestinian state" if that state is in perpetual war.

The DSA’s issue with AOC
The group initially voted to back Ocasio-Cortez’s reelection two days before the Democratic primaries last month at the behest of the DSA’s New York City chapter. But it was made on the condition that she publicly opposed all funding to Israel and backed the Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions movement.
The NYC-DSA, which had endorsed Ocasio-Cortez without conditions, believed that a conditional endorsement was worse than no national endorsement and requested the organization to withdraw it. After concluding that the incumbent wouldn’t meet the conditions, the national DSA rescinded the offer.
