Part of what brought Vance to the dance may be his undoing. Donors are scared of him.
In his rise from Donald Trump critic to viable contender to be the presumptive Republican nominee’s running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio has come so far. But he may fall just short thanks to some risk-averse GOP donors.

Little Marco is not a safe option.
Musk does not qualify for VP under the constitution. He was born in South Africa.
Q: Which additional block do ANY of these people bring in?
A: None
Nobody who isn’t going to vote for Trump will change their mind because a woman or a black is the VP pick. It isn’t happening. It is pure fantasy to think it would change anything.
The only possible group that Trump could make gains with would be apolitical young white men who otherwise may stay home. If he had someone who could relate to that group, Trump could theoretically pick 2 or 3 points. Anything else is futile pandering that can only hurt him.
Although I was pissed that RD ran for pres, I would love to see him as VP. He’s termed out as gov of FLA and he’s “severely conservative”!
Haven’t you been reading FR? He’s made such statements in recent days?
Say no to the donor snakes. They hate Republican voters and causes.

Trying to pander to women is a futile pursuit.
Pro life, Christian women are already voting for Trump. Pro-abortion non-Christian women are voting against him and no woman VP pick will change that.
Musk was born in South Africa and acknowledges his Boer heritage. There is no muddled family story, documentation or deliberate obfuscation of his birth to give him Constitutional cover.
It’s a Murdoch hit piece
JD Vance, Rubio, Burgum, are all head-fakes.
Get people talking about the preferred or best candidates, and then....
at the convention...
introduce the REAL VP pick. Not any of the above.
Trump said he was a worse governor than Andrew Cuomo and handles COVID worse. I guess he could pick Cuomo ahead of DeSantis.
Wrong conclusion, based on what my family members and friends think. Trump will be in his last term and a lame duck if he wins in 2024, and that is why Americans do care who the VP will be.
Doesn’t matter. They fume and fuss and after Trump makes his pick they will line up behind him because the alternative is unthinkable.
J.D. Vance said Trump might be ‘America’s Hitler’ in 2016 text messageBY GRAYSON QUAY
PUBLISHED 18 APRIL 2022
J.D. Vance’s former roommate on Monday released a purported screenshot of a 2016 conversation between him and Vance in which the now pro-Trump Senate candidate wrote that the former president might be “America’s Hitler.”
Josh McLaurin, who attended Yale Law School with Vance and has served in the Georgia House of Representatives since 2019, previously alluded to the conversation with Vance in a tweet posted Thursday.
In the message, Vance wrote that Republicans had neglected “lower-income, lower-education white people,” leaving an opening for a “demagogue” like Trump. “I go back and forth between thinking Trump is a cynical a—hole like Nixon who wouldn’t be that bad (and might even prove useful) or that he’s America’s Hitler,” Vance wrote.
Apparently Trump thinks Burgum is too pro-life.
Youngkin is one who might help the ticket, if he could swing Virginia into the Republican column. But voters will mostly be voting for who is at the head of the ticket.

J.D Vance: I Support Access to the Abortion Pill Mifepristone
This is what you support?
My line is Ukraine. If any candidate is all in on more stupid wars, I’m out. Rubio still thinks bombing Libya was a good idea, unreal, he’s a for sure no-go. Not as up to speed on this guy
The last thing Trump needs to do is to listen to the “donor class”. Only $100 or less donors should have a voice in this. We are the ones looking out for America, not our political investment.
You don’t think he risks losing conservative votes?
You really like that Hollywood leftist?
