The outgoing head of the British Army General Sir Patrick Sanders has warned that NATO may only have five years to prepare for war.

General Sir Patrick warned that the world was facing one of its most dangerous moments since 1945 when the world was last at war and that the alliance may have until the end of this decade to be ready.

Sir Patrick also highlighted that despite performing well in some areas, the UK’s armed forces were also underfunded and overstretched.

His warnings come at a time of rising global tensions over Russia’s war in Ukraine, China’s warnings of Taiwan, and the continuing conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Middle East.

I wouldn’t put it past the Dems to start a war to stay in power. They would rather be princes in hell than paupers in heaven.

For investing I like Vanguard index funds. Never invest everything in one stock or fund. 15-20% of your salary over 30 years plus in a diversified list of holdings and you should be OK.

How about instead of treating Russia and China as potential military adversaries, we treat them like trading partners?

That's what Nixon wanted to try, and yet here we are...

“The Chinese will also try recover the cost of the war by demanding tribute.”

As the majority of China’s population skyrockets past 50-years of age, grandpa and grandma Han are being trained where to squirt the oil so that their wheelchairs don’t make squeaky noises when charging enemy positions.

Fear the Chinese grandpas.

The reason why neither Russia nor Ukraine can make large military gains is because Ukraine is relatively open and flat country with satellites and swarms of drones overhead. Whenever Russia or Ukraine attempted to mass troops or machinery, they were quickly identified by the opposition, targeted and destroyed.

This is why Russia is fighting a war of attrition rather than a war of territorial gain.

Except Russia didn't plan for a war of attrition, they planned to end it all in a week.

Sure, long-term Russia will 'win' the war, sorry, special military operation, of military fighting, but they killed their image around the world, drove Sweden (Or Finland, or Norway, I don't know who's who up there) into NATO, and have revealed to the world that they're a third-world, WWII-style trench warfare military whose only real power against non-bordering countries is threats of nukes. And people seriously thought they'd be a threat to these US!

If the ChiComs take Taiwan, they will dominate the microchip industry. But then other factories will spring up elsewhere.

If the Commies actually take Taiwan, then all those factories will likely be setting off the demo charges. And if not, you can bet someone else will take them out before letting Red China hold them!

That doesn't have nearly the import you think it does. Of course brics will overtake G7.. G7 is mature and has very little room for growth, in mostly small countries.

Brics is third-world that has tons of room to grow, with a much larger chunk of the population. But they're still very poor and entirely based in manufacturing economies, whereas G7 is much bigger in tech and service industries.
