So when the LDS god says “everlasting covenant” he can eliminate it willy-nilly if he pleases.

You and I both know there is but one God called by his Son, The Father. His will Jesus the Son came to do. What the Father does is not our business. He will do as he sees it not as man sees it. You seem to be awfully willing to place God and his Son in a box of your description when you seem to lack understanding of scripture he has provided.

Do you think Moses and the children of Israel after forty years in the desert were any better than Christians of today? Despite their shortcomings he covenanted with them to remember them in the latter days and bring them in from their long dispersion among the Gentiles.

I’d say generally the Christian world is ignorant of God’s dealings with his children. I like to give God the benefit of the doubt when is comes to how I think about him. Count your blessings and keep the commandments that is some of what he asks. And in the end we will be judged by our “works”. That statement the Christian world would reject out of hand by misunderstanding of Law, Mercy, and Grace.

The Christian world with the help of “man” has built their divided kingdom and are seemingly proud of it. Can I say, the Mormons are no better, and when the end times testing begins, it will start with the Mormons. We can only believe in the basic principles of the Gospel Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Gift of the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end. Anything else could be addressed in Revelation 22:18-19.

Oh and BTW you were asking for a sign of the need for Prophets? See Revelation 22:7-9.

Not in THIS thread, but here's the data you referred to:

7 “Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.”

8 I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. 9 But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!”

Sorry, but I find no 'need' here.

No Prophet, limited truth.

The Bible requires such for the voice of the Lord to be heard by man.

REALLY?

Chapter and verse please.
