Britain's Labour Party swept to power Friday after more than a decade in opposition, as a jaded electorate handed the party a landslide victory — but also a mammoth task of reinvigorating a stagnant economy and dispirited nation. Labour leader Keir Starmer will officially become prime minister later Friday, leading his party back to government less than five years after it suffered its worst defeat in almost a century.
In the merciless choreography of British politics, he will take charge in 10 Downing Street hours after Thursday's votes are counted — as Conservative leader Rishi Sunak is hustled out.
"First and foremost, I am sorry," Sunak said. "I have given this job my all, but you have sent a clear signal that the government of the U.K. must change, and yours is the only judgment that matters. I have heard your anger, your disappointment, and I take responsibility for this loss."

How more open can they be? Maybe Biden’s border might be a clue.
The first item in the list is returning the EU’s cash cow back to the barn.
Correct.
Perhaps seeing Labour in its full glory will help to wake up more Brits in the future. On the bright side, Labour actually only got slightly more of the vote than in 2019 when they lost badly. The majority of British voters did not actually want Labour and will be inclined to turn strongly against Labour once socialist policies start ruining the country even more.
Nigel Farage’s Reform Party didn’t win many seats, but it did win a large proportion of the overall vote, showing large-scale support for immigration reform and other conservative populist policies. The right is undergoing rapid, much needed change in the UK right now. Labour is going to be running a country with a huge majority of seats but a minority of voters supporting them, and that may actually bode well for the right next time round.

She feels once he settles into #10 he will gladly unleash his true colors. My husband also said mainland Europe has been trying to push England into Socialism for a while. Now England joins Scotland as a Socialist part of Great Britain.

This means more military spending that will have to be squeezed out of an economy that’s going to get even more stagnent.
On the plus side, that moron Liz Truss lost her seat.
So other than “ Free Palestine” and raising taxes, I don’t quite understand the promises made that the ruling leftists intend to keep?
“Sunak said. “I have given this job my all.” You were a colossal failure, Sunak, complicit in flooding the country you had sworn to protect with riffraff from every third world hellhole imaginable. Your name should be a byword for “failure.”
33.8% is a “huge majority”. I see BS at work.
The Tories did it to themselves, and now all Britain must suffer.
I'd substitute "treason", but that's just me.
