Former President Donald Trump has been surprisingly quiet in recent days, lessening his normal barrage of personal attacks towards President Joe Biden just as Democrats are frantically huddling to plan a path forward for the party.
Since the debate with the presidents last Thursday, chaos has engulfed the White House as staffers, reporters and lawmakers down the road on Capitol Hill are wondering if Biden is capable of running for reelection.
Trump has made the rounds posting polls that prove positive for the former president and claimed a recent Supreme Court ruling as a victory but has less so gone on the attack against Biden's age.
The former president is known for his fierce criticism of his opponents, and just when Biden appears to be his weakest, Trump seems to be laying off and letting the Democrats handle the situation.
'I'm gonna show up and, you know, I'm gonna campaign, whether it's him (Biden) or somebody else,' he said this week.

"WTF when your enemy is immolating himself, stay away. Or maybe float a few scraps in the air. Take your pitch and shove it."
Yup—every time Jill appears with Joe in a locale and state she should be placed under arrest for violating local elder abuse laws.
Since they are state or local laws a presidential pardon could not keep her out of prison.
He’s playing it smart. Stay quiet. Endear yourself to the families who have lost loved ones to Alzheimer’s. Campaign to help find a cure. Go after the media. His cabinet.
There is nothing to say.
💯
The best thing that the Donald did in the last debate was to "shut up".
I think he's waiting to see how the Dem ticket shakes out -- it's in chaos now.
The Dem ticket might -- might -- have an effect on Trump's choice. He said he's already chosen, but that was before the Debate From Hell, which changed everything on the Dem side.
“The TDS enemedia want Trump to do anything so they can divert public attention from Flatlinejoe’s increasing dementia.”

Yes, and also it’s never smart to punch down.
If Trump attacks Biden right now it will turn Biden into a sympathetic character, instead of just a pathetic character. Trump already has to deal with the media trying to tag him with the bully mythos
A bunch of piranhas.
I’d be shocked if his VP pick is not Vivek. I think he decided on Vivek about six months ago.
Let them thrash. Why would Trump wish to help anyone stop it?
Yes. My thoughts exactly why Trump hasn’t come out swinging at Biden after the debate. Would put him in a bad light since Biden clearly has physical issues causing his cognitive problems. That in itself doesn’t excuse Biden’s shady past, but there is a time to be still and know per se....and in this case Trump knows his opponent is really gasping for his last breaths of public “service”.
When Trump's quiet, they hate him.
They just hate him.
I think the chaos on the left is delaying the announcement Why push Biden out of the spotlight.
In 2018 when my husband was still alive, we went to a Trump rally and it was really fun! The energy was amazing. As time progressed and Trump had more face-time on TV he’s say the things only Trump would say. We were watching a new cast of Trump ranting away and my husband said, “I like Trump and think he’d do a good job, but I really wish he knew when to just shut up.” Well, seems he has learned :)
Never interrupt your adversary when they are in the middle of making a mistake...................
Don’t interfere when your enemy is busy destroying itself.
He probably wisely agrees with this——
Never Interfere With an Enemy While He’s in the Process of Destroying Himself
Said to be by Napoleon, or Woodrow Wilson or others.
Why would he announce that now and take attention away from the Biden train wreck?
