Makes no sense that Merchan stays anything, especially his own ruling.

They can’t even tell you how Merchan miraculously got the case.

Good point. It could be a multi-year “suspended” sentence. But they way Merchan has played this so far, it likely means jail. But I am hopeful Trump has many avenues of appeal both in NY and under federal due process precedents. The man was simply not given a fair trial and there are several recent court cases where conviction was overturned both in NY and at the USSC over elements that were very similar to the way Trump was railroaded. See my post above re: Harvey Weinstein and the USSC decision Ramos v. Louisiana (2020) and maybe Erlinger v USA (2024) which mentions the 6th Amendment convictions must be unanimous on all counts for each alleged crime. No split decisions and lump them into one like Merchan allowed.
I asked where, too. We’re not getting an answer.
I don’t know what would be the mechanism to bypass the normal appeal process, but this case should have all the elements needed. Somehow, there has to be a way from stopping a state judge from interfering with the election in such a punitive way, and at such a critical time. If not, this kind of thing will continue.

I don’t see todays immunity decision as corrupt or fascist.

All of these trials against Trump are going to vanish like a fart in the wind.
Why? Because they know Trump is going to win if they cannot unalive him and he now has a huge (it’s huge) sword to yield with the immunity ruling. There is also that many J6 convictions will be thrown out and those found “guilty” will be released. Bad optics.
The whole case is a sham. The story had been out for years before the election. Any effect on the election was already factored in. The bill was for a group of legal services and however it had been identified it would not have been shared with the federal oversight i=util after the election. Non story...law-fare..prosecutorial and judicial malpractice.

Has nothing to do if he’s jailed. The immunity clause is needed to protect their side also.

Judge will give him the max on each count, but let them run consectively. So, it will likely be 5 years behind bars, and remanded will be remanded immediately to Riker’s. DNC isn’t worried about Biden being a vegetable since they are taking Trump out of the convention and campaign, as well as probably 90 million ballots in the bag. We’re looking at 4 more years of democrat rule.

Wow I was just talking about this in another thread, that this scumbag judge will probably give him time being that King Biden didn’t do well in the debate and that King Biden - the biggest traitor in US Presidential history- must “win” the election at all costs.
