I saw nothing about Trump being sentenced multi-year, either. I saw speculation about Galand.

My prediction is Merchan will give Trump probation and then immediately jump on a plane for an extended vacation.
Merchan will be golfing and drinking margaritas within a month.

If Merchan does in fact sentence Trump to prison, it would be immediately stayed, if not by Merchan himself, but a federal court.
They twisted an statute of limitations-lapsed misdemeanor record keeping charge into a federal election multiple felony count, so the federal courts would assume jurisdiction and stay this horse$hit immediately.
SCOTUS clearly sees their gameplay and is not entertaining it in the least.

There should be a compelling case to be made that the leading candidate for the US presidency, a man who is granted statutory protection from the Secret Service should not be put in jail.
The US Supreme Court has ultimate jurisdiction over all criminal cases in the US. They rarely get involved until appeals have gone though the lower courts, but they aren't required to do that. Bush v. Gore in 2000 was fast tracked because the timing was critical to the functioning of the government.
If ever there was an emergency case, this would be it.

My thoughts are that they will sentence him. Next, Biden will pardon him, short circuiting any appeal. At least that is my understanding of the implications of a pardon.
I wonder if we'll see a chorus of Democrats realizing how this might go wrong and start speaking of caution over the coming days.
If that third world banana republic mutt who came here at the age of six (probably illegally) incarcerates Trump, the leading candidate for POTUS, beware of a spark for a civl war.The Supreme Court must step in on an emergency basis to save the country. Keep in mind no one has ever been charged what Trump is accused of and it has yet to be determined exactly what crime he committed. The whole world is watching and we have become a laughing stock.

The appeal that the Trump team has surely prepared. I don’t know if they have to wait for sentencing to appeal or if it’s imminently going to be filed. But that is probably the main solution to this wicked dilemma right off the bat
The 34 charges were for 34 payments to a debt. I doubt if Trump even knew it was for the $130,000 NDA. At that amount, it would have been seen as extortion on the level of blackmail. Blackmail is a punishable offense.
This would push to replace ALL Democraps in all offices.

One has to wonder if there are any sane people left in government in the state of NY. The economic damage could be catastrophic. NY is losing its tax base, and that will be hard to readily replace. I understand commercial real estate in NYC and elsewhere is suffering from low occupancy already. I guess they will expect Washington to bail them out.
