Russia dropped dozens of its glide bombs on its own territory between April 2023 to April 2024, an intercepted internal document found.
At least 38 of the munitions fell on the Belgorod region close to Ukraine, according to The Washington Post, which cited bomb cleanup and evacuation documents obtained by Ukrainian intelligence.
The majority of bombs, largely undetonated, were found by civilians in areas surrounding the city. Four bombs have hit the city of Belgorod itself.
The first recorded accidental bomb drop fell on a central street in Belgorod in April 2023, creating a 65ft crater, shattering windows and blowing up parked cars. The detonation happened at night and no casualties were reported.
Moscow has been making extensive use of glide bombs in recent months, increasingly relying on them to batter Ukrainian cities and drive territorial advances.
..Glide bombs are Soviet-era heavy munitions retrofitted with guidance systems and launched from an aircraft flying out of range of air defences with a payload of up to 1.5 tonnes.

NATO and Ukraine have the technology which intercepts missile in the air soon after launch, and takes them down within the launching-nation, making it appear as if they bombed themselves by mistake. It’s a hack of the tech inside the missile’s tech,which is being adapted for intercepting nuclear missiles too. Imagine countries with nuclear missiles dropping nuclear bombs on themselves. ;)
How many times were the French involved in bombing France in freeing their country from the last bunch of Nazi occupiers. That is precisely what is happening in Kharkiv, the Donbas and Odessa. Yes, many ethnic Russians are dying in the bombing as their regions are being liberated.
Bottom line is we are at a stalemate and when Trump is president the parties will come to table and Ukraine will give up land, the war will end and oil prices will fall through the floor. Then the media can cry Russia, Russia, Russia all over again.
A victory (however defined) will be a loss for Russia at this point.

And no, I don’t support sending tons of cash to Ukraine, nor do I believe Ukraine to be some wonderful place. Nor do I support 90% of what Biden did or is doing.

How about the reality of the map before Khrushchev transferred Crimea to Ukraine in 1956 after 300 hundred years of Russian rule? Like the 1945 map of Palestine? There are plenty of maps that reflect the rightful owners of these lands. There is only one reality and your reasoning is certainly not based on that reality.

These bombs are being found on Russia's home territory, city of Bolgorod and environs.
