Street takeover with more than 50 cars in downtown LA leaves some in flames

More than 50 cars were involved in a street takeover in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday as some went up in flames, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Video shows a car completely engulfed by a fire, sitting in the middle of an intersection as a thick black cloud of smoke rises from the vehicle. Other cars can be seen as they try to drive around the inferno.

LAPD said several vehicles were impounded after authorities responded to the area near East 18th Street and Main Street, where participants intentionally set two of the cars on fire.

Firefighters received a call about an auto fire around 3 a.m., sending two fire engines as LAPD officers were also sent to the scene to investigate, according to the LA Fire Department.

No one was arrested, police said.

No one was arrested. As usual.

And nobody was shot either, which lately seems disappointing as well. The deceased seldom burn cars or disturb the peace.

It’s OK to block streets and set fires, as long as you don’t deface any street-painted “pride” flags or “BLM” banners.

And if you mug the husband of the Speaker of the House you get LIFE in prison.

Use your e-scooter to lay some tire marks on the sacred colored stripes painted on the roadway? Five years for you!

Mainly, insurance companies will raise the rates on those responsible citizens who are civilized. Easy peasy!

The difference is the Internet and smartphones. These creeps use Internet communications to organize these “sideshows” and retail smash and grab raids. We didn’t have these mass events before the internet.

What I want to know is What Do The Insurance Companies Think of This?!

No problem - they just raise our premiums to cover it. After all, if you ever got a speed camera ticket, you are a far bigger danger to the established order than these poor, misunderstodd, POC kids. :)

This is the first time I’ve ever heard the expression “street takeover” with or without burning cars. I’m glad I have no plans to go to LA and probably never will again.

How could anyone possibly support Newsom for president? It just shows the power of the propaganda press to hide all the negatives about what is going on in California. Newsom is even considered.

“WTH was the purpose for all this???????????????“

Thugs are allowed to do these things in order to terrorize the people into submission to Democrat politicians.

No one was arrested, let that sink in. This is our future, if these radicals continue in office.

Bingo!

The lack of arrests suggests this fun event was designed to be "on the job training" or - was allowed to be such shortly after it started. Chaos is the intended reality.

Imagine the scene when the shelves at Walmart are bare.

No one arrested? I bet if they had done this on a so-called “pride crosswalk” there would have been arrests.

It’s a show of force so all can see the criminals can do what they want without consequences, steal cars, torch them in the middle of intersections while they go nutzo, taunting the cops and those stuck in traffic...The cops start impounding vehicles only to find half have been stolen.... S. California is not the place for sane people who want to avoid these types of criminal lunatics. The tens of thousands who flee CA are being replaced by the worst low life imaginable.

A few miles away while this was happening, a car with 5 people in speeding in a neighborhood, lost control, hit a tree, flipped so violently one of the victims was ejected and actually landed on top of a roof of a nearby home. It’s being speculated that victim was ejected out the sunroof.
