FDNY commish Laura Kavanagh prohibits firefighters from ‘political expression’ — critics charge she’s silencing Trump supporters

The FDNY ordered firefighters and medics this week to hose down “political expression” on the job — a move some critics claim was done to muzzle supporters of Donald Trump.

...

The FDNY under Kavanagh — a longtime political operative who began her career working for Barack Obama and other Dems — has a track record of trying to silence rank-and-file members who express conservative views, critics charge.

“Once again, we’re seeing blatant overreach by the FDNY – overreach that is no doubt meant to silence supporters of the Republican party,” fumed City Councilwoman Joann Ariola (R-Queens), who chairs the fire and emergency management committee.

“We saw it with the Tish James fiasco back in March, and now, two days before the presidential debate, we saw it again. This city has a serious problem – we are letting violent [anti-Israel] protests slide while cracking down on free speech.”

In March, Kavanagh was openly dismayed after firefighters and other staffers booed Attorney General Letitia James, a fellow Dem, while chanting “Trump!” during an FDNY promotion ceremony.

...

After The Post reported that Kavanagh and the FDNY’s Bureau of Investigations and Trials planned to “hunt down” the hecklers if they didn’t turn themselves in, Chief of Department John Hodgens took the fall, claiming he wrongly used the term “hunt down”

Thought Police Alert!

And why not?
Is there any slightest indication that the American people would either stop, seriously attempt to stop, or raise hell in the streets about this?

When the Japanese created the world's first Thought Police in the late 1800s, little did they know that it would become a world-dominant concept and mainstay of every tyrannical government since...

Our communist masters are living large and in total control...
This is just the bare-bones beginning...

If generations of Americans, educated by government indoctrination schools, ever realize how bad things are, they will band together, once again, on Lexington Green or at Concord Bridge and chant:
Bow down!... Obey!... Snitch!...

More bastardization of the US Constitution. Free speech for me but not for thee. Law suit city time.

And this edict was conveniently handed down at the end of “Pride Month”, when all the parades and political activities were over.

"Unlike her predecessor Mr. Nigro, she did not come up through the ranks as a firefighter.."

Of course she didn't. She's one of those political appointees who has never worked a day in the job she is head of. The only reason she got any of her appointments was because she worked on DeBlasio and Obama's campaigns, and received political rewards after. I ran across several of her kind during my 25 years in uniform in NY State Corrections...people who were appointed to Superintendent (Warden), and Deputy Superintendent (Deputy Warden) because of who they knew, but had never worked in uniform. There was a time, many years ago, that the only way to become a Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent, was via a promotional Civil Service test, which was only eligible to people who had worked in uniform in the department. Politicians got rid of the test so they could appoint their political friends to those jobs. As well, people who had never worked a day in the job in uniform were tasked by Albany bigwigs with creating the rules, regulations, and directives for running the prison. Their ideas looked good on paper to them, but when it came to implementing them in realtime, the majority of them didn't work.

But they’ll push the LGBTQ agenda down their throats and then claim it’s not political.

I don’t believe public servants should be expressing political opinions when they’re serving the public.

I agree, they should not be engaged in politics while on the job. Then again, they should not be forced, as part of the job, to form a political backdrop for Attorney General Letitia James who has nothing to do with the FDNY.
