Howdy, luvie.

It’s been a while since you posted that pic. It is soooo sweet!

We might have rivaled your heat today. It reached 98 this afternoon. UGH!
Rain came through around 5:30 and dropped the temp to 78 in a hurry.

YAY! That’s about what we got. Every little bit helps.

Now if we could just get shed of this dratted heat! This evening they said this is supposed to stick around through July 10th. *sigh*

You came very close, but with your higher humidity it had to be unbearable! It was 102 here and is still 95.

Hurrah for at least a little rain.

It was weird here today. It was warm, but the sun played peek-a-boo most of the day.

Hope you still had some milkshake left by the time you got home. It does sound pretty good. Might have to make a trip to DQ for a blizzard on Saturday on my way home from work.

Roger - Face to face with the Vietnamese officer who killed my friends.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB3sfITanMc

Comments below the video:

“Most popular apparel of Vietnam Vets was a jacket which on the back said: “When I die I will surely go to Heaven because I’ve already been to Hell.”

“Loved this story. Very moving. I hope no one minds if I share something a little similar. My dad was a medic in WWII fighting in Germany and Italy. After a battle, he went in to attend to the wounded, and came across a German soldier who had his leg blown off but was still alive and conscious. My dad was able to stem his bleeding and stabilize him. My dad was able to do everything else that he needed to do and then went back to check on the German. They began to talk —-the fellow spoke English well. The man said that he dreamed of the war ending and taking his family to Florida and buying an orange grove. Just so happens that my dad had an orange in his nap sack and gave it to the man as the man was carried away as a prisoner. Before that happened he shared his name with the man. Years later my a crate of oranges was delivered by my house where i grew up. Somehow, this man survived, did move to Florida, did buy a grove and became an orange farmer. Every year thereafter we received a wonderful box of oranges with a note that said “Jerry (my Dad’s name) thank you for the orange”. They keep in touch, and on my wedding day, my dad asked me to help him find a phone (this preceded cell phones) because he heard this man’s voice in his head asking for my dad. My dad did find a phone, called this man and the man’s wife answered. She said that the man had died that morning, knew he was dying, and asked the wife to let my father know how grateful he was. Take from this what you will —-i don’t know what it make of it, but if there is a lesson, perhaps it is that fundamentally we are all connected and our natural state is not to be enemies but to be friends. Dad, i miss you a lot every day.”

Our heat index probably matched your 102.
I stepped out onto the front porch and the patio long enough to grab the hummingbird feeders to wash and refill and that was enough for me!
Until I went out a while ago to get a choklit milkshake. LOL

Tonight, the weatherman said this is probably going to go on through July 10th!

We’re still getting some light - emphasis on light - showers moving through. We’ll take what we can get!

It’s been weird up there the last two days. Huge fog bank over the inlet and big, puffy clouds along the mountains, and sunshine over the airports. And it’s been hazy. Not as bad today as yesterday but it was still noticeable. Probably dusty since y’all have had rain up there in a while. Gull Island was so pretty and green and now it’s yellow.

Yes, there was still some shake left when I got home. Not much though. LOL

I would, too! I started to yell at hubby to go get us one, but alas. It’s too late, like it was for you last night. LOL! I hope I forget about it by tomorrow. I don’t NEED the extra calories.

Every now and then, you need to treat yourself to a little something special and not think about calories. One shake won’t hurt. LOL

A very pleasant good Thursday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country.

Here is how our early trip to Wichita Ridge went yesterday.

We will do an early trip to Chisolm Trail Park later this morning. We are under a Heat Advisory today.

How's everyone doing this morning?
