Thursday’s presidential debate is “not the ideal arena for live fact-checking” former President Donald Trump, CNN political director David Chalian warned potential viewers Monday.
CNN’s coverage of Trump often includes network personnel attempting to fact-check Trump in real time or trying to fact-check him immediately after live coverage ends.
CNN’s Kaitlan Collins was widely criticized last year for failing to successfully fact-check Trump during her town hall event. The audience cheered Trump’s performance, while Republicans lauded Trump’s delivery as one of the best by the former president.
Chalian, who believes Trump “doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt on words,” told the New York Times that debate co-hosts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will use the event to facilitate conversation, which CNN analysts will use to fact-check immediately after the telecast.

Of course they won’t bother to fact check Biden since everything he says is a lie.

Newsweek/MSN: a new poll out today shows Trump edging ahead
of Biden among one important group of voters: independents.
According to the ActiVote poll of 2,029 likely voters, Trump is 22 points
ahead among the all-important independent voters in a two-way matchup.
Trump gets 61 percent of the vote share to Biden’s 39 percent.
“Of course they won’t bother to fact check Biden since everything he says is a lie.”
Seeing as Biden most likely has the questions ahead of time, there will be no need for the hosts to fact check them as they will all agree on the answers.
Seeing as Trump will not have the questions ahead of time the hosts will “fact check” the hell out of him as they will not agree with anything he says.
At the opening of the ‘debate’, will President Trump be permitted to ask for an apology from moderator Tapper for his prior comments?

If Tapper cannot apologize, the entire event is more toxic than merely being hosted by cnn and a waste of his time.
I’d walk off after demanding the same of biden for his ‘good people’ lie.
That says it all. They’re going to do everything they can to hurt Trump.
I won’t watch the damned thing. I’ll look at the analysis’ that come out here.

So this is what they what they have planned. Look for a chyron constantly accusing Trump of errors or lying on the bottom of the screen within minutes after everything Trump says.

Trump: Mr Tapper, are you and CNN going to apologize for your lack of journalistic integrity, when you neglected to do your due diligence in reporting on the Hunter Laptop lie that Joe Biden propagated during our last debate? Will you, Mr. Tapper, apologize for yourself and CNN, for your propagation of the “fine people on both sides” lie that you and your station, and Joe Biden still, foments? No? Then it is obvious that you and your network are just mindless government stooges, propagating a corrupt regime and i will not be a part of this charade.

CNN should focus on the adrev and STFU.
This is a gift to CNN. Ratings spike resulting in increased advertising revenue for now until November probably.
Far from starving the beast like we’re supposed to this is aiding and abetting the enemy.
