I suspect that bowing out now would do more harm than good to the Trump campaign.
Trump’s mistake was agreeing to this CNN debate in the first place. Each debate participant should have the right to pick two questioners of his/her choice. Nothing could be fairer.
But, no. Trump - and every GOP candidate before him - willingly steps right into the trap. It’s very frustrating.

Biden is drowning and Trump is throwing him a lifeline.
Many are convinced Biden will fall over or babble nonsense. If he doesn’t, a lot of people are going to say Biden wins the debate.
Biden will get the questions in advance. His handlers will have Biden pumped up with drugs and Trump will be attacked by the CNN flaks and not allowed to answer.
Just no damn reason for Trump to agree to the debates.
What CNN did was B.S. Trump should demand an immediate apology, and if none is received, he should boycott Thursday’s debate, and let Joe debate himself like he usually does anyway. It would save President Trump from wasting precious time having to debate the moderators once again.
He cant back out now, he agreed to it, agreed to ALL the terms, if he backs out now he’d look like a fool..so he has to just go in there and act presidential and it will be fine

trump should either drop out or go freestyle on CNN, by which i mean ignore the moderators altogether and address biden directly every time his microphone is on.
the worst CNN can do to that would be to cut off Trump, which would backfire and make trump look good.
Trump has no incentive to debate CNN. any time Trump were to debate the CNN moderator, it would shift attention away from trump and to CNN and the moderator. this would be counterproductive to trump’s campaign.

Trump should insist that Jake Tapper have Karoline Leavitt on his show tonight or tomorrow, and not cut her off.
I understand where Bannon is coming from, but it might actually behoove Trump to continue on as planned, and mention how disgusting he finds CNN to be for doing what they did to his spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt. That this debate had better not be a repeat of that disgraceful display of disrespect, and you wonder why your ratings are like the worst ever. and continues to fall. Put them on defense right out of the gate to set the tone. 🤣

He knew straight from the start that this was a rigged debate.
The whole reason there actually is a debate is because Biden talked tough about about how badly he wanted to debate Trump and how Trump was afraid to debate him because Trump knew he would get his ass kicked by Joe just like he had in the past.
Biden wanted to lure Trump into phony debate negotiations under absolutely ridiculous rules of engagement so negative to Trump and one side for Biden that Trump would never agree to them.
Biden never intended to debate, nor did he have any expectations that he would actually be on the debates.
After Trump rejected the debate terms, Biden and the media could then spin the narrative on the debate issue that Trump is afraid of me and refuses to debate me because of how badly I'd kick his ass so I won the debate - all without having to actually debate.
Trump stunned Biden by accepting his one sided and rigged debate terms and blind sided Biden. Now Biden has to debate.
Everyone knows CNN and especially Tapper and Bash hate Trump with a passion and are going to try to ambush him in the debate.
It's going to be a three way, three on one debate against Trump and it always has been.
My fear is not that Trump gets bushwhacked by CNN, my fear is that Joe does so bad he gets the hook and is prematurely removed from the race.
Biden and CNN are going to try to turn this into an anti Trump food fight. Trump needs to keep cool, keep his wits about him and beat Joey up on his record starting with the Biden destruction of the economy, flooding the country illegal immigration that is bankrupting the country with insane welfare benefits paid to illegals which are stealing resources from needy Americans , and the crime, drugs and degeneration the Demcorats are intentionally inflicting on America's cities.
If he does that, he will win.
