He's absolutely right. It's very disconcerting that Trump doesn't understand this. The decision to go on CNN and agree to their rules and TDS moderators shows that Trump or his advisors lack common sense - IMHO.
And they will make money
Since 2020, two elections ago, no campaign strategies on the right have changed. Not one iota. Nothing has been done to weed out and prosecute the cheating mechanisms in our national elections. The cheating mechanisms which were in place in 2020. We still have all of them. Except now they are on steroids, with the illegal alien population increase and automatic voter registration ramp-up. We still have hundreds of innocent Americans locked up in a DC jail on bogus insurrection charges for four years, by a U.S. justice department which refuses to hold BLM and Antifa responsible for the violence they unleashed in the streets in 2016. We still have a cowardly majority in the House making deals with Satan. Now this. Another debate on enemy soil. Just like the last one. Repeat—NOTHING HAS CHANGED.

Candidates are slaves to their egos but the Republican party is intentionally disenfranchising their own voters. Some would call it “malpractice”.
CNN is going to be trying to bushwack the old Trump only to find out that they mistakenly prepared for the last war and they are fighting a new war against a new, more measured Trump.
At least this is the way it will go if Trump has learned his lessons.
He needs to appeal to struggling suburban women and single moms, not turn them off with his style like he has in the past.
If he can pull this off he gets a huge win against Biden and the undercuts the media war to take him down.

Yeah Trump has to be presidential, dont fall for the BS, they are going to go after him calling him a convicted felon and this is what Trump should say “I wear the term convicted felon as a badge of honor, because I know the ONLY reason why they went after me with ridiculous charges that no one has ever been tried for is because Biden knows HE CANT BEAT ME, so its fine, call me a convicted felon, I will wear it proudly”
Trump is going to pummel CNN.
He’s not there to debate hospice chute.
He won’t be debating FJB.
He will be debating Jake and Dana.
Trump might be thinking along the same lines, i.e. he is afraid that Dems will yank Biden off the stage and swap in a better candidate. If they see media articles claiming Biden did OK, they might keep Biden around for a while.

I think we are being played. If Biden stays upright the whole time and doesn’t drool or wander around, he will be declared by the media as deserving a second term. Just think; his abililty to merely carry on a normal conversation, as any 8th grader can, will be, as you say, hailed as a victory.
He will probably do okay phyically and maybe mentally during the debate; they will have been calibrating his shot in the ass for a week to get it just right.
Trump needs to have on tap about twenty lines recounting Biden’s record, starting with inflation, immigration, the world on fire, etc, say them slowly, and say them often. He does not even need to challenge Biden. He should inform the electorate that they need to think about Biden everytime they buy groceries or gasoline, etc.
Anyone who needs a “debate” to tell them who to vote for shouldn’t be allowed to vote.
There is no better chance for him to sway voters than talking directly to those who oppose him.
It’s Biden who should be worried. He’s destroyed the lives of everyone who will be watching. No getting around that.

And with Snopes fact checking, Trump should ask for an apology from CNN.
He should call in and say the time must be move to 2hrs earlier for personal issues. If Biden doesn’t agree, bow out.
Have some Red state and friendly AG send him a subpoena for that date or something.
I don’t see it that way at all. They were 100% convinced he wouldn’t say yes. Played them.
Now they have Biden on a 7 day drug routine.
