Ten people were shot, with one person critically wounded, early Sunday in Columbus, Ohio, police said.
The shooting happened in the Short North Arts District near downtown around 2:30 a.m., with victims from 16 to 27 years old, according to the Columbus Police Department.
All of the victims in Sunday’s shooting appeared to be men, according to NBC affiliate WCMH of Columbus. Nine of the victims were listed as stable Sunday morning, Columbus police said.
Columbus Police Sgt. Joe Albert said a male suspect was found shortly after the shooting but officers lost him during a highway pursuit, according to the station. The suspect was driving a white Honda Civic with tinted windows, authorities said.
This is the third time in just over a year that there’s been a major shooting in the arts district.
On May 6, 2023, two simultaneous shootings happened overnight that left at least 10 people shot, including one person who was shot by an officer, the station reported.

Sgt Joe Albert detailed the police chase, telling WCMH that authorities chased the suspect’s car, but he did not stop or pull over.

Deangelo Fuller turned himself in and identified himself as the driver of the white Honda Civic that police were searching for.
Police have not identified the man but charged him with obstructing official business.He drove through a Capitol window?

If you watch the video at the link, it states near the end that this is the 3rd such even like this in the last year. It sounded like the other two were about as bad....
I spent several days at a conference there about month ago.... the Columbus Convention Center is just a bit south of where this happened. I wouldn’t stay in the downtown area... stayed about 10 miles away and drove to a parking garage across the street from the convention center every day. Only saw it during the day and was always gone out of the downtown area by about 5 pm. It is as they say, in serious decline...
