Is This Our First Look At Russia’s New Monster Glide Bomb Striking Ukraine?
The war zone ^ | 22 Jun 24 | Joe Trevithick

Posted on 06/22/2024 11:49:29 AM PDT by delta7

Russian forces have begun employing massive 3,000-kilogram (6,600-pound) class FAB-3000 M54 bombs turned into stand-off weapons in Ukraine it has been claimed. If true, this could present a significant new challenge for Ukrainian forces given the amount of destruction power such a weapon could deliver while also helping the launch platform stay further away from Ukrainian air defenses.

At the same time, questions have already been raised about what aircraft might be able to employ FAB-3000 M54s converted in this way and the size of the available stockpile of the bombs, all of which could limit their actual operational utility.

The Fighterbomber channel on Telegram, which has close connections to the Russian Aerospace Forces, shared a video, seen below, earlier today purporting to show the first combat employment of a FAB-3000 M54 fitted with a UMPK-series glide bomb kit. UMPK modules consist of a pop-out wing kit and a guidance package, as you can read more about here.

The FAB-3000 is one of, if not the largest conventional general-purpose high-explosive bomb in Russian service today. There is no direct U.S. military analog, with the largest of the three most common sizes of bombs American forces employ being in the 2,000-pound (900-kilogram) class, or less than a third of the size….

…. Whatever the weapon is, it clearly has significant destructive power, causing major damage to the apparent main target and completely leveling three other buildings. Other structures in the area also show signs of being damaged to varying degrees……

Don’t try to twist things around. If what you claim is true, which I doubt, then you should know better than to be so hot for war with Russia, and especially sending others into it. I’m for peace negotiations, you are one pushing for escalation. I’d say you are another proud Ukrainian nationalist, desperate to get us into it.

The U.S. and NATO could win the war in a day, if they wanted to destroy Russia.

Wrong, bro. As usual.

Just a few minor points. The FAB-3000 is 3,000 Kg or ~6,600 lbs. Originally produced n the 1950's, the FAB series includes larger bombs FAB-5000 (~11,000 lb) and FAB-9000 (~19,800 lbs).

Russia does not use actual GPS, but its own system that does the same thing.

Blinken said that Ukraine can strike anywhere in Russia that they want to strike, so I have to take that to include Moscow. It also explains why Putin is now signing formal alliance treaties with North Korea and Vietnam (I think).

Actually, the MSM 'helped' that story along. It's 'Russian Territory' which is the region in the former Ukraine that either voted for independence or voted to join Russia. They have been shelling that region, and sending ground based missiles for some time. They want to exterminate Ukrainians of Russian descent anyway, as they have been shelling that region for years. Now they switched to bombs deployed via aircraft. Then Blinkin and the MSM ran with it - not clarifying that this was not within Russia's traditional borders.

Your way of thinking is not how the world works.

My comment was not about thinking.

My comment was about facts!

Your delusional.

The facts are that we've spent trillions and lost thousands and thousands of our sons, fathers, and brothers in wars fighting "gnats" over the last fifty-plus years.

-gnat Korea
-gnat Vietnam
-gnat Granada
-gnat Iraq
-gnat Aftganastain
-gnat Syria
-and now: gnat Ukraine

I'm sure I may have missed a few. Other than the giant country of Granada, we have absolutely nothing to show, and we lost—and lost big time.

You say I don't know how the world works. Take a look in the mirror, you idiot.

It’s REALLY CUTE how the Zeeper totally ignores the fact that Russia’s economy is now larger than Japan’s and both countries have almost the same population (Japan is slightly less).

So, by his standard of Russia being Third World, then Japan must also be Third World.

Ever been to Japan?

I have been studying the realities of the world we live in for some time. One lesson stands out: when some demagogue starts throwing around the word “democracy”, they mean globalist communism.

“They want to exterminate Ukrainians of Russian descent anyway, as they have been shelling that region for years.”

I’ll give Ukrainians the benefit of the doubt and say that they were giving their 10 million local Russians one of 3 options*:

1. Stay and learn Russian, and then speak only Russian, even if you are 80 years old and need a doctor.
2. Leave and find a new home, in another country
3. Live on the street and die off (due to not being able to speak Russian).

The shelling in the days before the ‘full-scale invasion’ (LOL) were prep for when the 100,000 NATO-trained Ukrainian troops at the line-of-control were about to execute the above in Donbass, and then move on to Crimea.

*this fits the UN definition of Ethnic Cleansing PERFECTLY - something that we used as the pretext for bombing the shit out of Serbia and Serbian areas in Bosnia. No different here.

While Zeepers claim that the above never happened (despite being documented at the time by neutral entities, like UN peacekeepers), Farage and now Trump FULLY UNDERSTAND the recent history in Ukraine and want no part of this ‘new and improved’ version of the Belgrade Bombings by NATO.

"The U.S. and NATO could win the war in a day, if they wanted to destroy Russia."
Wrong, bro. As usual.

Sure. That's what they've been saying for the last fifty plus years.

Only we keep losing. And losing against little bitty countries.

As one of the smartest humans on the planet once said:

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”

Parroting Russian nationalism. Somehow I doubt they would embrace you.
————
Having trained Ivan’s in Moscow for three years and with current contacts, they do “ embrace” Peace. They also do embrace Putin and overwhelmingly (86 percent) support him. Putin is frequently viewed as Russia’s Trump, and view this war as a war with the West, not fellow Slavs.

……Something the collective West failed to realize when they started their failed “ Project Ukraine “ back in 2014. Engineering a Russian coup is sheer stupidity, they stand United.

Then, you have been studying the wrong things and you have come up with the wrong conclusions. Everybody knows what democracy means, and it's not communism. Get a new brain.

we have absolutely nothing to show, and we lost—and lost big time.

We do have a lot to show for our efforts and our losses. We don't always need to have a 'visible' victory with a victory parade afterwards. The world is in relative peace because of our involvements. It's been about 80 years and we have not had another world war, and many wars have been avoided because our presence is virtually everywhere, and because we have involved ourselves in making wars either short-lived or not even started.

You say I don't know how the world works. Take a look in the mirror, you idiot.

Your post above proved that you have no idea about how the world works. Instead of looking for unquestionable victories, look at the big picture. You are a surface thinker, and if you looked below the surface, you might start to get a better picture. MORON!!!

We can agree that many people know what “democracy” means: two wolves and a sheep voting on what’s for dinner or simply mob rule guided by nefarious propaganda. A Constitutional Representative Republic is not the same as “muh democracy”. I am starting to suspect that you do understand the distinction. At any rate, no one is reading this old thread anymore and I think that you and I understand each other’s motives.

Wrong, bro. As usual.

Denial of the truth is not a valid argument. Russia is not a world power economically, and what they are is a military power, but that power pales in size to what the NATO/US allies can bring to a war. Nukes is the only thing that gives Russia their muscles to flex before a war. Otherwise, they are weak, and the Ukrainin war proves how weak they are, when Russia can't win a war against a very weak military.

So, it has to be you that is very wrong, as usual.

As you and I have discussed before, adorno - you're always wrong about everything.

Hence, the "Wrong Bro" nickname.

You can disregard this Ukie-cheerleading stooge adorno, icclearly and Kinzua.

If you check his long-term posting history [if you bother to waste the time], you'll find that his "opinions" don't stand the test of time.

Perhaps I'll add to his nickname list with "Didn't Age Well".

We do have a lot to show for our efforts and our losses. We don't always need to have a 'visible' victory with a victory parade afterwards.

You are absolutely right about that statement.

We have quite a lot to show. Quite a lot!

-trillions in debt
-loss of thousands and thousands lives of our best young men - husbands, sons & brothers

I don't know about you, but I served my country when I was young, naive, and foolish (like you). I'm over that now. You can go or send your son (and daughter) to die for such foolish notions. That's your choice. If they come back in a body bag, I hope you can say it was worth it!

As for peace in the world, do you mean the peace we have as in..........

-Middle East meltdown
-threatening another sovereign nation (China)
-threatening another sovereign nation (Russia)
-peace in Africa (where we're being kicked out)
-peace in Iraq (where we spent a trillion and lied to start a war)
-peace in Afghanistan (where we spent another trillion and left in a panic)
-peace in Vietnam (where we spent billions, lied to start another war and got our butts beat)

I could go on and on. But I'm sure you see the pattern.

But, then again, you probably don't see 'cause you are probably blind as well as foolish and quite dumb.

I’d say you are another proud Ukrainian nationalist, desperate to get us into it.

Not Ukrainian at all; in fact, never even came close to that country ,and I haven't even been to Europe. I am a proud American who wishes wars would never happen because I saw first-hand what war does to a people and country. But, wars do happen and I choose to be on the side of the victim country and victim people. Russia is the aggressor country and I have to wish that they can be overcome and sent home without a victory. Unfortunately, we have very weak leadership here at home and weak leadership emboldens our enemies and aggressive countries. Trump might be the beginning of a solution in the war, and hopefully it's not by surrendering Ukraine to Putin.

BTW, the truth cannot be twisted; it stands on its own, and the lies can't undo it. The 'twisting' is the interpretation given by those that have no understanding of the issues and can easily be deceived. Recognize yourself?
