Martin Luther King III knocks North Carolina’s Mark Robinson in new ads

Human rights activist Martin Luther King III is slamming North Carolina GOP gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson in new ads accusing him of rejecting the Civil Rights movement that King’s father and others led.

The ads that the liberal-leaning group Progress NC Action released show King discussing comments Robinson has made about aspects of that movement and his father, Martin Luther King Jr.

Robinson, who is North Carolina’s lieutenant governor, is the Republican nominee for governor and is running against state Attorney General Josh Stein (D).

In one ad, King rejects any comparison between his father and Robinson, saying the “blatant bigotry” Robinson and former President Trump have reinforced is in direct opposition to what his father referred to as the “beloved community, a world built on peace and justice.”

Never forget the left will pay any sum to get such a highly recognized name in their camp. Money talks.

The more blacks he can help keep on the democrat plantation, the better as far as the left is concerned.

The link within the link quotes Robinson as saying that the civil rights movement was good for ending segregation (which is true), but was used to push against capitalism and usher in more government involvement in our lives (which is also true).

I heard that the “Martin Luther King” legacy is now a “brand” and all his relatives make money off of it. They may be getting your tax money to boot!

I’ve always been curious - having viewed the actions of those that surrounded MLK - if he had lived, would MLK have been a guidepost to keep his followers on track, or would he have been corrupted like they were?

Would MLK have been corrupted?

You’re kidding, right?

That's a good question. And I don't know what to make of MLK's character. Most of the dirt we know about him came from the Dim-run DOJ (RFK) and its FBI (J Edgar Hoover) that was against MLK. So I hate to take their word on MLK's misdeeds.

I’ve wonder something similar about Lincoln. Had Lincoln lived how would history view him, considering the fights he would have had and possibly lost with Congress over the ‘readmission’ of Confederate States (he held they really didn’t leave the Union) and Reconstruction.

In any case Lincoln’s surviving relatives didn’t not copyright his images/speeches etc.

Marty King is the ultimate loser. He couldn’t even succeed as a county commissioner. He has NOTHING going for him except the name he inherited, and even that was not enough to make him popular in Fulton County GA of all places.

I never thought much of King. But, after his death, I watched some of his videos and was impressed by some of his speeches and some of his quotes in those speeches. I also thought he had some giant gonads when he marched in some of the marches he marched in in the deep south. There, in those days, everybody hated him and the cops were mostly red neck KKK guys. He’s lucky he survived that.

Notwithstanding any of the foregoing, I believe his womanizing and other habits have tarnished his legacy forever similar to John Kennedy (JFK).

Did he advance the cause of the black man? I believe he moved the ball down the field a few yards......yes.
