NBC's medical drama New Amsterdam has been ripped to shreds for a woke episode in which a patient develops a tumor from 'internalized racism.'
The drama series, which concluded in January 2023, gained renewed attention this week after an X user posted a clip from a 2020 episode in which a teenager is diagnosed with tumors.
In the clip, a psychiatrist on the show can be seen approaching the boy's mother and telling her he had the teen answer some questions from a group called UNREST, which he said were 'designed to measure someone's level of social resistance.
'Your son feels threatened on a daily basis, like everything he's earned can be taken away. He's disenfranchised,' the psychiatrist says.
'But because his life is seemingly free from all this, because he can't name it, he's internalizing it.'
When the mother seems confused, the psychiatrist says: 'Racism - I think your son's tumor was caused by racism.'

I turned that series off during the episode where the main character climbed a ladder and started taking down the pictures of the hospital founders — because they were old ‘white’ ‘men’.
The series was always leftist wokeism, but that episode did it for me.

This seems to fit the motives behind many of the racist/sexist hoaxers. They believe horrible things are happening to “their” group, and want to raise awareness about the “danger”, so they create and find racist/sexist/homophobic/whatever graffiti, flyers, nooses, etc. What excitement to “make a difference”...
Perhaps the screenwriters used “tumor” to avoid saying leftist delusions lead to mental illness.
During WWII, Ghandi advised the Jews to offer themselves up to Hitler. I think the theory was that Hitler would tire of killing them and see the error of his ways. I think the world would have run out of Jews first.
They knew it’d be little damage. And it seems they are right. The story comes out six weeks after the show ends. I only watched a few shows at the beginning. It was decent. But they killed off his wife and he “replaces her” with a black girlfriend. I said enough.

US television programs are going the way of the NBA and the NFL.
Haven’t watched a US Network show in over 30 years.
