The group that owes the black population is the DEMOCRAT party! Wake up. Blacks are part of the American community. Yes they were horribly mistreated, but I would imagine that most of the black slave owners, both in the south and the north, were DEMONRATS.
And many of those Southern Segregationts were Economic liberals. Meanwhile, Joe McCarthy campaigned in black neighborhoods. I’M A JOE MCCARTHY REPUBLICAN. AMERICAN HERO.
Democrats have been selling black people down the river for centuries.
First literally, as slaves. Then with the empty promises of LBJ’s so-called “Great Society”. Now with reparations, etc.
They’re being used (again) by hustlers, who don’t want their lot to improve (then they wouldn’t need the hustlers’ programs now, would they).
That is the deal. You can celebrate your holiday all by yourself and complain about it not getting more recognition, or you can have your holiday nationally recognized and complain about it not being wholly your own anymore — or you can recognize the terms of the deal and enjoy your holiday (either in a small way confined to your own group or in a big way as a national holiday) and not complain at all.
I suppose if you want to escape this dilemma you could arrange more meaningful in-group celebrations of your holiday alongside its national recognition as a day off. Nobody’s stopping you from having a parade or a festival or a conference, but I suspect that an opportunity to complain is its own reward for some people.
Freedom finally came on June 19, 1865, when some 2,000 Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas after years of fighting democrats.
The army announced that the more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state, were free by executive decree of the Republican President of the USA.
This day came to be known as "Juneteenth," by the newly freed people in Texas.
It is a holiday for freedom loving Republicans of all skin shades.
Four of my Republican ancestors, 2 from NH and 2 from VT, died in the fight to free the slaves from their democrat masters.

Banks will be closed on Juneteenth (June 19th) as it is a federal holiday observed by the Federal Reserve. Major banks like Bank of America, TD Bank, Chase, Wells Fargo, and J.P. Morgan Chase have announced closures for Juneteenth, following the Federal Reserve’s holiday schedule. However, online banking services and ATMs will remain operational, though transactions won’t be processed until banks reopen.
The United States Postal Service will not deliver mail on Juneteenth, except for Priority Mail Express. Federal offices and schools will also be closed for the holiday.
While Juneteenth is a federal holiday observed in all 50 states, whether state government employees receive a paid day off varies by state. As of 2023, at least 28 states recognized Juneteenth as a paid holiday for state workers. However, some states like Indiana do not observe Juneteenth as a state holiday, so state offices there will remain open.

It is a made up ‘holiday’ with little to no actual historic basis. Why is it that blacks can’t come up with anything authentic to celebrate? Perhaps because much of africa still finds blacks living in huts.
Don’t really know how I’m supposed to “celebrate” this holiday. All the food I’d want to eat would probably be seen in bad taste, there were no parades in my area, so the boat, a big lake, and fishing with my youngest was the way we spent it.
How does a black woman go to DIXIE and Peter Mahurin Honors College? How was she not offended by that while wearing Hamas garb?
