Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is pushing a unanimous consent vote on a bump stock ban for the purposes of using Republican opposition to paint the GOP as favoring mass shooters, according to a source on Capitol Hill.
A unanimous consent vote can be blocked with one Republican in opposition, and that one Republican vote is what Democrats would highlight to then claim Republicans as a whole are against stopping mass shootings, against keeping Americans safe, etc.
Sen. J.D. Vance (R) called out Schumer for pressing for votes on “fake problems” instead of taking up serious issues that the Senate may play a role in solving.

Virtually none of the weapons they want to ban are used in more than a tiny number of murders. Given the Dems hand wringing about Trump becoming a dictator, one would think they would embrace the truth of the 2nd Amendment, which was to allow The People to be armed sufficiently to do defeat a government that has become tyranny.

There is no evidence a bump stock was used. There is lots of evidence there were fully-automatic rifles used.
So many questions about what happened, and so few answers.
Why did three helicopters, using spoofed transponder IDs, turn off the transponders just before the shooting and strafe the building with machine gun fire?
Why did battles occur at multiple locations in the city?
Why didn't the news stories cover them?
This documentary about it, "11 Minutes," is well worth watching.
