Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) is being mocked for owning a Prius as far-left electric vehicle policies become prominent issues in key Senate races.
The Washington Post pointed out Tester’s ownership of a Toyota Prius in an article published Monday that highlighted that vulnerable Democrats are working to scramble away from President Joe Biden’s radical electric vehicle policies.
“According to Tester’s memoir, published in 2020, he bought a used Prius to drive while in Washington, D.C.,” the Post notes.

The anti-Sheehy (Tester’s opponent) commercials have been running non-stop here in MT. Hope he’s planning to fight back.
Tester sucks, but as much as I hate to admit it Priuses are good little cars that are reliable and get good mileage.
He’s running ads in Montana saying he has always disagreed with Biden about the open border and wants a tough border policy.
He is a liar
Tester shoulda brought a horse from his Mont. farm/ranch.
“...Priuses are good little cars...”
Upgraded quality golf carts for city use.
“Tester sucks, but as much as I hate to admit it Priuses are good little cars that are reliable and get good mileage.”
I was going to say the same, they’re DAMN GOOD CARS, and while I’m as much of a Right Wing Extremist as anyone here, I do think that Hybrids are a good concept, as long as they’re not FORCED on people, which is the case for the Prius.
They're fine vehicles; I've got a red 2010 and it's just right for my needs. The only car I've had that was more fun to drive was my '82 Mazda RX-7, also red.
My guess is that this whole stupid EV disaster of an experiment is going to end up with hybrids winning out for passenger cars, ICE for trucks, and pure-EV for very short-haul around-town commuters and of course virtue signallers.
I could live with the hybrid.
“Tester sucks, but as much as I hate to admit it Priuses are good little cars that are reliable and get good mileage.”
The Prius is a hybrid. The main propulsion is via an ICE.
Nothing wrong with a Prius hybrid as a daily commuter or local errand car. Our 2012 Prius C has over 200k miles, battery pack is still good, doesn’t consume oil and still typically gets between 50 and 60mpg.
He is well known for massive lies every election year.
Not really, I’m about as far away from the city as you can get on the east coast. With the proper tires those little cars are great in the snow (I think it’s the weight). I’ve never seen one broken down.
That’s “Pwee-uth”, thank you very much.
Prius is a hybrid not an ev.
Tester is a lard-ass, but a used Prius is a practical commuter car for Washington DC.
And?
“And?”
And?
Like I didn’t know a Prius was a hybrid? To imply otherwise wasn’t even part of the discussion.
They wouldn't if the cars weren't reliable and cheap to operate.
It's the only rational decision that I know that Tester has made.
