Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) called Hunter Biden’s conviction on federal gun charges “kinda dumb” in a post on the social platform X, minutes after the verdict was announced.
Hunter Biden — the second-oldest son of President Biden — was convicted Tuesday afternoon on three federal gun charges. The felony charges alleged President Biden’s son lied about his sobriety when obtaining a gun in 2018, and illegally possessed the gun for 11 days.
Hunter Biden’s verdict comes just two weeks after former President Trump was found guilty on all 34 felony counts in his New York hush money trial. Gaetz called the former president’s conviction “the corrupt result of a corrupt trial, a corrupt judge, and a corrupt DA,” in a statement issued immediately following the verdict.

Gaetz’s comment comes as Trump’s campaign dismissed the conviction as “a distraction” from more serious allegations.

The Liberal press will find a way to sanctimoniously call this a “confirmation that no one is above the law”, and that “Hunter is getting justice, in the same way that Donald Trump got justice. The Rule of Law is over all!”.

saw the other post, yes trumps right, they just doing this to distract from the ukraine stuff. this has nothing to do with the punks computer and to say they are non partisan. there are serious stuff with hunter, not that anything would happen to him, but joe is behind enough they dont need to deal with biden corruption too.
If I were to rob a bank and speed 20 mph over the limit in my getaway car, and I ended up with a ticket with no robbery charges filed, that would be “kinda dumb.” Very similar to what is happening here: Bidens stole millions, and Hunter is convicted of lying on a gun form, just so the Dems can say that no one is above the law so Trump should be in prison for the next 140 years and have a half a billion dollar judgment.

All the extra forms you have to fill our are just plain BS.
Had it not been for those forms, there would be no violation on Hunter's part.
FWIW, I recently spent approx. 40 minutes in a gun store to purchase a .22 and it would have been shorter had it not been for the stupid paperwork.
In contrast, in March I also ordered a silencer from an out of state dealer who also guided me thru all the BS paperwork needed to go thru the govt. It's going to take 7 to 9 months before I finally get to take possession of it.
It's easier to purchase a lethal firearm than it is to purchase a nonlethal silencer.....sheesh!
The Tax Evasion case is the more interesting one... now that one will go forward.

His being an unregistered foreign agent seems to be an obvious infraction.
The funny thing is that I’ve made mistakes on my form (I completed the date wrong.). I handed it to the guy at the store. He looked it over. Handed me another one and pointed out my error. He wouldn’t sign it if it wouldn’t pass muster. And the guy read it closely.
I have always been impressed at how closely and “seriously” they took those forms.
I have no sympathy for Hunter. I figure if I can fill them out correctly, anyone should be able to. But this isn’t really a “go to prison” kind of crime if it only happened once.
Yeah whatever. Wonder how many guys sitting in prison for felon in possession of a firearm think it’s dumb to convict Hunter for exactly what they did?
I agree. It’s the least of what he has done, and they carefully chose to charge him with something that doesn’t involve his dad or uncle.
This is all kabuki theater. They swept the most damaging crimes under the rug. He’s not gonna get prison time all he’s gonna get is probation six months with an ankle bracelet. But there’s something underneath all this that just strikes me as smelly! They’re up to something, and it’s not good!
The trial and conviction exposed the sham original investigation for what it was, an attempted DOJ cover up , like the prosecution of the woman who stole Ashley Biden’s diary. It also totally beclowns the 51 who contended the lap top was Russian disinformation, and puts yorking their security clearances very near the top of th executive orders fo 12:01 pm on 1/20/25.
