As far as I'm concerned, the only requirement I would support in order to purchase a firearm is the instant background check to prevent convicted felons from purchasing any.

All the extra forms you have to fill our are just plain BS.

Had it not been for those forms, there would be no violation on Hunter's part.

FWIW, I recently spent approx. 40 minutes in a gun store to purchase a .22 and it would have been shorter had it not been for the stupid paperwork.

In contrast, in March I also ordered a silencer from an out of state dealer who also guided me thru all the BS paperwork needed to go thru the govt. It's going to take 7 to 9 months before I finally get to take possession of it.

It's easier to purchase a lethal firearm than it is to purchase a nonlethal silencer.....sheesh!

And the wait for a "silencer" is almost due strictly to Hollywood. I still see Hollywood showing people shooting someone with a silencer, inside a home for example, and barely audible whisper is heard from the shot fired. That is why you can buy a lethal firearm and are made to wait up to a year for a silencer.

And for the fact that his mistress/dead brother's widow threw the gun in a public trash can where it was later found. No one would have known anything about it.

There is something wrong with that whole family.

My wife purchased a suppressor. I already had an NFA Trust. I thought it would be a short process. Unfortunately, there was a new form, Personal Responsibilty, that must be filled out by everyone on the trust that has access to the purchase. My son is on the trust so that he could participate in trips to the range with the NFA items. Unfortunately, my son decided to pursue driving flat bed trucks. He was always on the road. It took 3 YEARS to get him to provide the form and updated photo for the ATF paperwork. We finally finished it. I'm seriously thinking of moving him from a trustee to a beneficiary so that is no longer a problem.

If convicted felons can't be trusted with purchasing a means of self-defense / recreation, then why are we trusting them out amongst society?
