The battle for labor unions’ support in the presidential race wages on as the leader of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters reportedly seeks a platform at the Democrat and Republican national conventions this summer.
The New York Times’ Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan reported Monday that Teamster President Sean O’Brien has requested to speak at both nominating events. This is a promising sign for former President Donald Trump and a worrying sign for President Joe Biden, given that the union has regularly endorsed Democrats for president dating back decades, according to the outlet.

Hell no.
Can’t believe the unions would endorse Trump. This is just to maximize their leverage.
NO!!!! NEVER TRUST A DEMOCRAT!! NEVER!!!
Time for the “It’s a trap!” meme?
Diesel prices are killing the truckers.
This guy is bad news.
Who cares who this commie endorses? The teamsters will vote for Trump.
It’s a calculated risk.
I work with and am I member of a (separate) union. Our leadership(s) are very hard core democrat, but the union members are in an uproar about the abuse the democrats have heaped upon us for 12 of the last 16 years. Leadership has a tenuous hold on their positions at best. They may just realize the day of reconning is at hand...
My last job before retiring was in a plant with the Teamsters Union. Workers were very pro-Trump.
MORE IMPORTANTLY, President Trump is going to have a listining roundtable at black Detriot Church! He goes were Republicans won’t.
Money talks and bullsh*t walks!
No kidding. But hey, considering every business has sold America out and are beholden to the dims, gone woke, ESG, etc.
Probably a ploy to drive a wedge between pubs at the convention and add chaos.
As a long-time involuntary member of unions (three different in my working career), my thoughts:
1. Union leaders are invariably leftist. And sometimes far-leftist.
2. The membership represents the community as a whole. You’ve got MAGA guys, Bernie Bots, and everything in between.
3. Union elections are fixed. That’s why the leadership does not reflect the membership.
Having said that, I would allow a union leader to speak at the GOP convention. It’s taking a chance. But if he talks about the need to return industry to the United States, he’d be on a MAGA wavelength.
It’s worth a roll of the dice.
LOVE it. F the neoCON corporation worshipping free traitor globohomos.
Trump has taken the party back from wall street robber barons like Romney and given it to main street americans.
A risk that may be worth taking.
“He goes were Republicans won’t.”
That’s because the party writes off such groups as lost causes. Trump on the other hand believes in giving everyone a chance.
No Effin’ Way!!!
The Teamsters endorsed Nixon, Reagan and Bush Sr.
I can see them supporting Trump.
