The amount of planet-warming carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere has hit a new record, as humanity struggles to rein in emissions of greenhouse gasses from burning fossil fuels.
The new record comes as tens of millions of people are grappling with extreme weather in the United States. Much of the western U.S. is experiencing the first major heat wave of the year, which is driving temperatures 20 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit hotter than what is normal for June. In the Southwest, temperatures are lingering well above 100 degrees.
Such extreme, prolonged heat is directly related to human-caused climate change, scientists say. All the extra carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere traps heat, and leads to more intense, frequent and persistent heat waves, and other extreme weather such as powerful hurricanes and heavy rain storms.

Rebecca must have stopped taking her meds. 🙄🙄🙄
Plants will be happy but my allergies may not. More active plants means more aggressive growth.
OMG, now I know why we don’t need more CO2, the triffids are coming!!!🙄
You are saying temperature is cyclical??? Blasphemy!!! /s
“ Stop. Please make it stop.”
Why do you keep posting it, then?
So do your part & plant a tree trees provide shade & absorb CO2😁
“than ever” is a very short time. Than ever is defined as less than a hundred year. We have a 4+ billion year old planet. We have had far more CO2 and far less. We have had a far warmer planet and a far colder planet. We are not at an extreme. And our planet is constantly moving from one extreme to another for a host of reasons. Climate is just a scam to sell carbon tokens. Most of the world is not buying it. And we should not either.
BTW, I was wondering if they mean there is not enough plant life to suck up all the co2 in the atmosphere and by putting more into the air we have more co2 than the plant life can absorb. But if the existing ppm is 450-500 and I was told the plants are starving. Should more co2 be good for plants there by not starving them and allowing them to thrive better. So is there a growth lag that is not being accounted for yet?

The early Permian period, carbon based life including plants, nearly ALL went extinct. Lowering the CO2 level in the atmosphere is bad Bad BAD.
“There is more CO2 in the atmosphere than ever” That sounds like a Jr high child wrote that.
That would be .0042
No, it is not at its highest concentrations ever.
This is an abject lie
No!
Cut down vast swathes of trees and replace them with solar panels.
That lowers CO2 \emissions\, right?
I blame it on bringing millions from 3rd world levels of CO2 emissions up to 1st world levels by importing them in droves.
As determined from ICE cores.
Cold water sequesters CO2.
Plus those ICE cores are localized to the [current] poles or very high elevations (where the air is thinner.
The largest CULT in human history.
Hurray for global warming. Hurray for carbon dioxide. I burp as often as I can to do my part.
“Than ever?” How would they know?
Hunga Tonga mega-eruption effects are still being felt after 2 years.
More lies from NPR. The only people who listen to it are those who are totally brainwashed leftists anyway.
Present CO2 concentration is 400- 420 ppm.
"During the Paleozoic Era, CO2 levels were as high as 4,000 parts per million (ppm) around 300 million years ago. During the Ordovician Period, around 500 million years ago, CO2 levels were around 3,000-9,000 ppm."
Because...science.
