But as to this business of killing the dog, being afflicted with rabies is not the only reason for euthanizing an animal. Some animals are essentially so dangerous to have around, that human beings are unsafe in their presence. Taking the matter into your hands, a very hard moral choice in its own right, is more a measure of doing what is right, even if many think it not to be just. What else, pray tell, was to be done about an animal that was essentially a sociopath?

When will Kristi realize that insisting on a woman (or a black or an Indian or a (fill-in-the-blank)) rather than the smartest person is a recipe for disaster. (Think about Kamalala Harris.) The Vice President has two AND only two Constitutional duties, the first to be the President of the Senate, the second becoming President or acting President when called upon to do so.
I long for the days when the Vice President spent his days doing is job and presiding over the Senate. (Yes, even some of those VPs were pretty sorry souls—LBJ comes to mind.)
