So every one of these defenses collapsed shortly after they were stated by the defense. And that leads to this question of why, why isn’t he just pleading guilty? This is an open and shut case,” Turley added.

I'm actually hoping the jury acquits him. Then people will really see where we are. It's the perfect bookend to Trump's kangaroo conviction.

I see it as a lose lose no matter what happens (for him)

The public now can see how they covered up his laptop, and how it is yet ANOTHER hoax played on the American people, just like Russia Collusion.

I thought the point “Knowingly” signed the document could be an out.

I think that's the likely outcome. The jurors are no more fond of IRS audits than anybody else in the nation at large.

For people with power and who are willing to take the risk, it is relatively easy to tamper with a jury. The FBI can do it by electronic surveillance over the jurors and their families to find points of weakness and persuasion.

Money can also do the trick. I know of a major gambling case in Tallahassee decades ago in which the state court jury stunned almost everyone by acquitting the defendants on all charges. The jury was bribed.

The case made the career of the defense attorney, and the son of one of the defendants became a lawyer and then a judge.

So the defense is constantly putting up arguments that are getting directly refuted. Opposite of what they claim. Why aren't these lawyers being sanctioned for putting up nonstop obviously incorrect arguments?
