A direct clash between Russia and NATO would put the world "one step away from a full-scale World War III," Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters this week as he celebrated a preordained victory in the country's presidential election and underscored his uncompromising Ukraine strategy.
The threat of nuclear escalation has been ever-present as the West continues to bolster Ukraine and frustrate the Kremlin's military campaign. For Moscow, the nuclear card has been useful in deterring deeper NATO involvement in the conflict. "Everything is possible in the modern world," Putin warned this week.

Shreveport= Barksdale and the B52s and WSAs there.
There was a movie called Testament—also one of those early 80s things. Took place is a town like Mill Valley above San Francisco. Her husband worked in the city and did not come home, her children died one by one from radiation sickness (as with rest of the town) rather depressing.
There was no bomb blast or destruction in this suburban town, only the residual effects of the blast far away which was to illustrate that even at distance, death lurked around the corner.
I also finished this Spring, Nuclear War: A scenario. the Audio book version.
While rather cold and statistical, its that very dryness that is horrendous. We will not survive as a nation, nor any other nation for that matter...it will be more of a On the Beach situation.
I don’t know what the idiots are doing—but the path they are going down will lead as all into perdition.
Yup, I saw the miniseries on Chernobyl. Those poor firemen who fought that fire died in the worse agony. They couldn’t even give them morphine because their veins collapsed. They had to bury their bodies in lead coffins and seal that in concrete. (Heard they did the same for the Radium Girls.)
This harkens back to the youthful conversations we had at parties in the 80s when the drinks were flowing.
And being in Houston, we knew we were right up there on the list. :)
Theist looks nuts. I dont see Norfolk or Kings Bay GA on the list, im sure they are top 10.
The Russians won’t go nuclear for the same reason they have refrained for decades. MAD Mutually Assured Destruction
Barksdale Air Force Base for Shreveport.
Norfolk was on the list.
I was surprised my hometown of Jacksonville was not on the list.
Was this being discussed in the MSM during Trump’s time in office?
Yuppers...
Libtard neighbor thinks it’s great Trump is Convicted and WWWIII ——oh Well.

The Veiw is her god.

The map has not changed from when I first saw this map , in a class held on Otis AFB, MA, during The Cubann Missile Crisis.
At this stage in life, I will take the blast. Infi rmed, vcan’t make ‘the lap around Walmart’, dialysis.
Such Russian drama.
I guess i need to start digging that bunker again….
This reminds me.....how many “1 bomb states” are there?
Colorado - Denver, New Mexico - Albuquerque, Oregon - Portland,
New York - NYC, Washington - Seattle, Michigan - Detroit, Minnesota - Minneapolis, Illinois - Chicago, Pennsylvania - Philly, Wisconsin - Milwaukee, Virginia - Occupied Northern Virginia.
That’s 11 states ruined by one big city.
I’m screwed too when I consider Cincinnati, 35 miles west. GE’s plant to built military jet engines is there. Major rail, road and air hub as well, with the I-75/71 bridges.
This is what I’m counting on.
“People can protect themselves against fallout radiation, and have & good chance of surviving it, by staying inside a fallout shelter. In most cases, the fallout radiation level outside the shelter would decrease rapidly enough to permit people to leave the shelter within a tew days.
Even in communities that received heavy accumulations of fallout particles, people soon might be able to leave shelter for a few minutes or a few hours at a time in order to perform emergency tasks. In most places, it is unlikely that full-time shelter occupancy would be required for more than a week or two.”
This is a very important booklet to have nowadays.

These are just population and C&C centers. There are large bases that would be used to attack that are missed here. I mean, who thinks Groton CT and GA are not targeted for their Sub bases? Or Norfolk for their naval bases and supply points. There are AFRB all up and down the east coast that would be vaporized because of their ability to house and launch strategic bombers.
This map was drawn by grammar school students.
And really, is there anyone over the age of 20 that is going to get worked up over this? This has been “hanging over our heads” since the early 1960s.
When are we going to start the Friday at noon siren tests again?
Why Blow up LA? Better to hit San Diego the home of thee Pacific Fleet? What about Pear Harbor in Hawaii? Or Norfolk the home of the Atlantic Fleet. What about West Point? New London?
The target map indicates a lot of racism and homophobia by the Russkies. Surely the UN will send a strongly worded note, and recommend whiter targets.

I hope you’re in Vermont.
