It goes without saying that, after Donald Trump’s bombshell 34-count guilty verdict, we are sailing in uncharted political waters. We’ve never been here before. And nobody — nobody — knows how this is all going to turn out.
There’s no doubt, however, that the Trump verdict and the Republican Party’s reaction to it, have demolished two long-held political tenets. One, oft-cited by political cynics: “There’s no real difference between the two major parties.” If that were ever true, it’s no longer the case. There’s no way the Democratic Party would ever nominate a convicted felon for president — and, even if they tried to, no way they could ever get away with it.
The second demolished tenet, proudly proclaimed since the days of Richard Nixon: The Republican Party is “the party of law and order.” Ha. Richard Nixon be damned. The party of Abraham Lincoln and Richard Nixon is now just the opposite. Under Donald Trump, it’s become the party of crime and disorder.

while the party that brought us slavery remains the party of slavery.
” If that were ever true, it’s no longer the case. There’s no way the Democratic Party would ever nominate a convicted felon for president — and, even if they tried to, no way they could ever get away with it.”
That is so far off the mark, it’s not even worth explaining. They dont get it. Never will.
They make it sound like Trump is a serial killer who embezzled billions from the treasury. The worst of the worst.
His accountant made a data entry error in the eyes of the law. That’s it.
Bill Press?!? Didn’t know that loathsome turd was still around.
Evidently the left fears Trump.
Bill Press is still alive?
Who Knew
“Bombshell verdict”? Really? Any one with a gabby saw this train coming....... And, the hill, sooooooo.
One party puts their political opposition on prison.
It’s called totalitarianism.
They know it and support it.
We all know Bill Press is just a partisan hack, but this is just part of the effort now underway to create a dishonest narrative.
Railroading your political opponents on contrived charges is the exact opposite of law and order.
So yes, the GOP is standing up for law and order by nominating PDJT
Trump’s accountant listed “paying a lawyer” as a legal fee which is considered a felony in New York despite no one ever getting in any kind of trouble for this before
“Under Donald Trump, it’s become the party of crime and disorder.“
What a lying scumbag this guy is and always has been
I should have known, the Hill would try this angle. “oh it says something about the people that nominate a felon”. Give me a break.
Stopped reading right there. NOTHING this guy says is true.
I have been to Nicaragua, Panama, Costa Rica, Columbia, Ecuador, and Peru. I have talked to people in those countries about political corruption. What the general public or at least a significant percentage of the US general population has never seen, is the Judicial system within the US become that of a politically weaponized Banana Republic. Yes, we have seen many miscarriages of the Judicial system, but not to this extent. In those other countries, “ex-Presidents” are routinely imprisoned and found guilty of all kinds of things both real and imagined, some are even allowed to commit suicide prior to being arrested. Unless something changes, public trust in the judicial system will be destroyed.
The people who make up our government, became too powerful and too self important.
MTG was on Steve Bannon’s show this morning. You could hear the frustration.. Hear her disappointment in the state of congress and what is not being taken care of.
I have grandchildren I love more than anything.. Are they going to subject those young people to a life of government control? Has the influence of Hillary, Barry, Joe, run amuck in the halls of congress? Has all the blood that has been shed for freedom, worn out? Are we there yet?
God help this nation.. Don’t let them destroy America.
“There’s no way the Democratic Party would ever nominate a convicted felon for president — and, even if they tried to, no way they could ever get away with it.”
Which raises the age-old question: do they lie because they are evil or because they are stupid?
His accountant made a data entry error in the eyes of the law.
The prosecution offered no testimony or evidence towards what the log entry ‘should have been’, and the judge allowed no defense testimony regarding ‘normal practices’.
press
